学习类的已经告一段落，我已把讨论过的题目全部整理进了习题讨论区的“学习”子目录中，大家还可以继续到里面去回帖讨论，也可以查看。

今天的题目是：

competition is ultimately more beneficial than detrimental to society.

life is just like a game. The problem is that it's not how you play the game, it's how the game plays you.

support,
1,the fittest survive,which is demonstrated by the nature,is accepted by most poeple.and procedure to survive is the kind of competion wich nature.
2,we human beings are inborn to be lazy,without competition,there would be no developement.Through competition,poeple achive utmost developement.
the most common example is that through competition,manufactures improve the quality of their products while their cost is reduced,and we are the ultimate beneficiaries

agree

no competetion no progress. Man cannot surmount his natural indolence unless he is forced to. With the competetion, it is impossible for one to survive unless he compete.

competetion promotes creation. the rapid developing electrical prodocts are the best manifestation.

competetion hlep to make friendship. say, a foreign company extend its business in another country, it competes with the native companies, but it also strenghten the relationship between the nations, boost the communication of technology, knowledge, etc.

it is undeniable that malignant competetion ends with destruction. for example...

can not agree with it.

The value of competition is much exaggerated nowadays cause it has long been ignored in some places. Once its value is reciscovered, people tend to make use of it with wild effort.

True, competiton is efficient for it stimulates people to work harder and win fame or money to themselves.

What detrimente the society is that competition, in nature, dehumanize us in many aspects. People work crazily hard to be the winner but forgets the true meaning of life.The fresh air, the bird's songs and the peace of minds seems to be squeezed into a darker corner under the pressure of conpetition.

Moreover, competition, to a large extent, is a great waster of our resources. The rule of Winner Take All (胜者通吃) magically attract thousands of people to run for a slim slime opportunity of success. The NO 1 takes all but the second, no matter how tiny their difference may be (say, 0.01 second in running race) will soon be forgotten and gets nothing. Let alone the thousands of grass root people that have practise and competed for long!

partly agree

my view is that when competition is proplerly and healthily held, it is more beneficial to society,while it is unproperly or illicitly held, it will be detrimental to society ultimately.

life is just like a game. The problem is that it's not how you play the game, it's how the game plays you.

but i find my view is difficult to be developed into a good essay. however, if i write it, i would like to stress the benefical aspect, which might be somewhat like Terryshen's perspectives and style.

to teryshen: i think your essay is well-organized and your perspectives are good and penetrating! but i think your second view is not well-supported cause you used a example to occupy the whole paragraph.

AGAINST:
if we ask ourselves, what is the most interferes with our enjoyment of existence, we will think of ' the struggle of life", which, to a more precise extent, can be interpreted as the struggle of success. what people fear when they engage in the struggle is not that they will fail to have their next meal, but that they fail to 'keep up with joans'. this is to say, competition with others.
i.e.
1.lose the pleasure of life
forget the real meaning of life (angle of individual)
2.
A. at the early stage, it is one of the basic means to develop society. while larger companies become larger, it will result as it is tremendously difficult for small companies(which probably could be more creative..) to compete.
B. competition can not be viewed as the only way to improve both individual and society as a whole. since if so, life will become full of tension and cruelty, while relaxing will become impossible.
(angle of society)
