In this era of digit, video camera plays an increasing vital role in recording contemporary life. Nevertheless, written documentation, which a significant form of making records cannot be substituted however digital technology is developed.

Admittedly, accuracy and reliability are video camera's merits of enormous importance than that of written record. Without exaggerate expression originate from personal imagination and creation, digital photographs or VCRs are more honesty and closer to reality itself. Photograph has a greater capacity in recording a contemporary scenery than written form for the writers focus more on the happening issue or the incredible view, which should be the main point in their literary works, while video camera simultaneously put down the surrounding, environment, witnesses, which are the details easy to be overlooks and still of tremendous importance. In short, the video camera as a recent recording appliance has its priority in some respects.

Nonetheless, the assertion that the video camera is exceeding written literature in documentation is over-statement. With the rapidly development of digital technology, for example the spread use of Photoshop, a useful software to do photo modification, the so-called convincing records video camera takes is unconvincing these days.
