TOPIC: ARGUMENT45 - The following appeared as an editorial in a wildlife journal.
"Arctic deer live on islands in Canada's arctic region. They search for food by moving over
ice from island to island during the course of a year. Their habitat is limited to areas
warm enough to sustain the plants on which they feed, and cold enough, at least some of the
year, for the ice to cover the sea separating the islands, allowing the deer to travel over
it. Unfortunately, according to reports from local hunters, the deer populations are
declining. Since these reports coincide with recent global warming trends that have caused
the sea ice to melt, we can conclude that the decline in arctic deer populations is the
result of deer being unable to follow their age-old migration patterns across the frozen
sea."

In the argument above , the arguer claims that decline in arctic deer population is the
result of  deer being unable to follow their age-old migration patterns across the frozen
sea" ,this conclusion could be threefold as follow.
   1)the amount of arctic deer decreased.
   2)arctic deer could not migrate like before as the result of warming weather
   3)being unable to migrate would lead to the decline of arctic deer's number
however, after close scrutiny of the facts listed in the argument, none of them win my
support.
firstly. the aruger cites the reports from some local hunters to sustain the decline of
deer's number. however, imagine that if in these years ,local weather is bad and cold,and
deer's food is in lackness as the reason of pollution,which would leaded to  leaving of deer
. in this circumstance, the same result would come out in the report ,in short , there might
be no variation of deer number.
Secondly. even the first conclusion is reasonable , it is a little presumptuous for the
arguer to extrapolate that deer could not migrate like before as the attribute of warming
weather, at first , the arguer has no proof to prove that the worldwide trend of weather
would  be appropriate of local condition , second , even local weather would get warm too,
without the exact study , we do not known the damage  it would do to ice,which is necessary
for deer's mirgation,it is possible that deer still could move from one island to another by
a nearly invariable ice.
finally. even above conclusions all stand. there is a little correlatioin between the
migration and decline of deer number. common sense tells us, all the creations have a strong
adaptable ability ,which means if the change of environment is not big enough, they could
continue their living as normal ,perhaps arctic deer would soon be suitable to the new
condition and still keep their amount without decline.
In conclusion ,the deduction lacks credibility,and only the arguer could provider more
evidences and investigations to resovle above fallacies, the argument could be persuasive.

building to its manager.
"One month ago, all the showerheads喷头 on the first five floors of Sunnyside Towers were
modified to restrict the water flow to approximately 1/3 of its original force. Although
actual readings of water usage before and after the adjustment are not yet available, the
change will obviously result in a considerable savings for Sunnyside Corporation, since the
corporation must pay for water each month. Except for a few complaints about low water
pressure, no problems with showers have been reported since the adjustment. Clearly,
restricting water flow throughout all the 20 floors of Sunnyside Towers will increase our
profits further."

"A recent study reported that pet owners have longer, healthier lives on average than do
people who own no pets. Specifically, dog owners tend to have a lower incidence of heart
disease. In light of these findings, Sherwood Hospital should form a partnership with
Sherwood Animal Shelter to institute an 'adopt-a-dog' program. The program would encourage
dog ownership for patients recovering from heart disease, which will help reduce medical
costs by reducing the number of these patients needing ongoing treatment. In addition, the
publicity about the program will encourage more people to adopt pets from the shelter, which
will reduce the risk of heart disease in the general population."

increase our share of the market by selling cars to this growing population. Thus, we should
discontinue our oldest models and concentrate instead on manufacturing sporty cars. We can
also improve the success of our marketing campaigns by switching our advertising to the
Youth Advertising agency, which has successfully promoted the country's leading soft drink."

文章整体结构很清楚，我觉得就第一点的论证还可以展开些深入些比如猎人之所以会说少了可能他们没有看到或怎样,还有就是注意一些连接词的使用可以使文章更流畅
