我的文章主要使模仿北美写的issue99
The argument actually consists of 2 claims: (1) that, in any fields, taking practical attitudes or actions is the only way to success; and (2) that idealistic views should be eliminated by practical ones. In my view, I fundamentally agree with the first claim. However, sometimes idealistic views would also show their values. As to the second claim, I totally disagree with the speaker.
The reason for my fundamental agreement with the first claim is that a practical view definitely ensures one's success in most time. In common situations, people who hold a practical view might be more likely to make efforts to realize the view in mind than those with an idealistic view. And this difference determines the former might gain success more often. Three brief examples can demonstrate this point. First, if Sir Isaac Newton had just thought out the ideas which becomes some scientific truth nowadays but hadn't to prove their credibilities, till now they would have been only some ideal assumptions. Second, if Thomas Edison had just possesses the idea to make people work or do something they like in night days and hadn't done the over 10 thousand experiments to realize that, we would probably still live in the dark at nights. Thirdly, If Winston Churchill had just given some heated speeches to the public and hadn't done what really benefited the people in person, he would not have been one of the greatest politicians in the world. It can be seen clearly that people might get real successes, only when their ideas which might be great were realized and accepted by the public by practical actions resulting from practical view points.
However, that might don't work in some certain areas. For example, an idealistic view is needed in the process of constituting the vision or the culture of a business companies. In fact, although an idealistic company vision seems to be impossible to achieve in a short time, it might incentive the staff of the company to work harder and more efficiently for the beautiful future of the company which is described by the vision. Because most people believe that if the company he works in becomes better in the future, they would also benefit from this situation. Many other examples in other fields also can be cited to prove the effect of an idealistic views exerting on people's success and it is not necessarily the case that a practical views might certainly lead to one's success.
As to the second claims, I think that idealistic views can not be superceded by practical ones. Actually, an idealistic view might be the base of one’s success and people can get the success through a practical action. In many cases, it is ideal that encourages people to work hard for its goal. And without an idealistic view, people might lose the incentive to strive and success might be only an ideal all the time. That is the function which a practical view might not enjoy. For instance, many years ago, it is just an idealistic view, even a dream, for human beings to fly in the sky. However, this dream wasn’t been abandoned by us. Through unaccountable practical efforts, the Wright Brothers finally invented the first plane in the world and made this ideal dream come true. So we can see that an idealistic view is as important as a practical view to one’s success. If a person wants to achieve his goal, he might hold both two views at the same time.
To sum up, practical views or actions commonly is an efficient way to success. However, sometimes idealistic views would also show their values. And idealistic views should not be eliminated by practical views.
