TOPIC: ISSUE103 - "The study of history has value only to the extent that it is relevant to our daily lives."

I am concerned that the speaker are doubtful on unworthy of the study of history which ,on the surface, might seemingly be irrelevant to our daily lives. The study of history, in fact, is associated with our life in almost every aspect today.

First, studying national history is beneficial to inspire the inner patriotic feeling of ourselves towards our nation. The big events and political movement with abundant details was recorded in history books. Many historical schools came in to being on studying different period of history and leading characters helping make that history possible. Actually, when we study with earnest on the leading characters on their passion to change the fate of the country with their new ideas and knowledge, we are deeply touched by their courage and determination. And thereby this will be influential to forming our determined character and inspiring us to better our nation at our best in future. Thus, any form of history study on the development of a nation is absolutely importance in making our nation a better society.

Furthermore, history study in scientific development can boost the development of today's technology. Some people may be suspicious that we are advanced much further than the past and how can we benefit from learning past. However, any inventions are not the result of the inventor's own imaginations. For instance, the submarine's idea is based on the study of whales and dolphins. Still today submarines pale in flexibility with comparison with whales and dolphins. Technology still needs to be advanced on the basis of the past research.

Additionally, the war history is also a treasure left for today. Some people who advocate for peace may dispute that it is not right to study war history for fear that this will cause another war. However, we have to study the war history carefully with in-depth effort to avoid the reoccurrence of the next world war. Many countries are putting a huge budget on developing military weapons. China's success in sending an anti-satellite missile frightened every country in the world. However it should not be wrongly understood that China will be more aggressive in the world. It just demonstrates its determination in keeping peace in the world with its capability on destroying any satellite of military use of any countries which might be taking any military actions. Thus, just relying on the study of the war history, that the main cause of the World War is the unevenly military powers distributed in different countries leading to the burst out of the World War, China fully aware that only develop more advanced military weapon, can war be prevented.

To sum up, the study of history is greatly connected with today's life in all aspects. Only by studying the history can we know how to better our society in the future.

this issue talked about the importance of history to our daily lives from three aspects, each aspect is well developed and supported with appropriate example. Generally, it is a good issue.
But I still want to give my advice:
a. try to be more concise and easy in language to make readers understand.
b. The example about the war history should be better developed.
