TOPIC: ISSUE103 - "The study of history has value only to the extent that it is relevant to our daily lives."

According to the speaker, because of relevant to our daily lives the history is so valuable that it is deserved to study the history. At the first glance of the issue, this opinion seems to be somewhat reasonable. I agree to the opinion that we should investigate the history for it is priceless to some extent. Nevertheless, further reflection tells me that the arguer's assertion ignores many practical problems.

Whether the scholar should study the history which is relevant to our lives at the expense of dismissing the whole history or vice versa often depends on the issue of which is seen more paramount. Such opinion will come into my mind, it is true that we should do some research of the history which is relevant to our daily lives. For instance, when a nation suffers hardship such as the warfare, economic depression, epidemics and so forth, the government should promulgate regulations which could follow the rules used past to confront the disaster, while at the same time, if we do not research the relevant history well, the difficulty could not be conquered quickly enough because the instructions may not be published in time. Thus the history which is relevant to our daily lives is valuable for us to investigate.

However, the history is not only relevant to our daily lives but also inspires us to some extent. For example, Roosevelt is a charismatic president fraught with optimism, whose confidence is essential to sustain the United States and its people during the strains of economic crisis and world war. Although the nation had been sunk in the worst depression of its history for many years, it is the Roosevelt's New Deal makes the country gradually overcome the crisis. So the president can be held up as a good example to the citizens because he is a great man who is full of courage, braveness, wisdom and so forth. In order to better face the difficulty, the history of the great elites and the movement should be cherished.

What's more, the history is so priceless that we should do some research of the history more through and comprehensive. Frankly speaking, some similar things are always happened in the history so as to follow our ancestors’ steps to face the difficulty. For instance, mistakes in the history could point out a new way while success tells us we can follow our ancestors to make our society more prosperity. If history is not understood well, we ought to grope ourselves way lonely.

Simply put, without studying the history, in order to pursue a better life we ought to find our way blindly because the ancestors' experience is so paramount to us that we can hardly dismiss. Thus, as an inevitable trend in the present circumstances the study of history is so meaningful that we should exert our greatest effort to investigate the history.

According to the speaker, because of relevant to our daily lives (because of + n.)the history is so valuable that it is deserved to study the history(删除). At the first glance of the issue, this opinion seems to be somewhat reasonable. I agree to the opinion(opinion前面写了,这里最好不要重复,可用 point) that we should investigate the history for it is priceless to some extent. Nevertheless, further reflection tells me that the arguer's assertion ignores many practical problems.

Whether the scholar should study the history which is relevant to our lives at the expense of dismissing the whole history or vice versa often depends on the issue of which is seen more paramount. Such opinion will come into my mind, (which opinion?这里用逗号说明是後一句了?可是用it is true又没接上前句)it is true that we should do some research of the history which is relevant to our daily lives. For instance, when a nation suffers hardship such as the warfare, economic depression, epidemics and so forth, the government should promulgate regulations which could follow the rules used past (before取代) to confront the disaster, while at the same time, if we do not research the relevant history well, the difficulty could not be

conquered quickly enough because the instructions may not be published in time.

In order to better face the difficulty, the history of the great elites and the movement should be cherished.(这段不错!句子理得很顺!)

If history is not understood well, we ought to grope ourselves way lonely.(这段的论点太泛,所以也不好写,感觉没论证到什么问题。建议将下划线的那一句当论点来写)

Simply put, without studying the history, in order to pursue a better life we ought to find our way blindly (这里句式有点问题吧,和后面也没什么因果关系)because the ancestors' experience is so paramount to us that we can hardly dismiss. Thus, as an inevitable trend in the present circumstances the study of history is so meaningful that we should exert our greatest effort to investigate the history.
