The author claims that any field study can advance significantly only when outsiders bring their knowledge and experience to that field of study. Views regarding this problem differ from person to person, which is determined by the intrinsic complexity of the problem. From a personal perspective, subject, be it plausible in some aspects, suffer from several flaws when some branches of science development is concerned.

On the one hand, some branches of science can go forward without the knowledge and experience of outsiders. There are many such examples to verify this point. A case in point is the development of physics in the early 20th century. Einstein, one of the greatest physicists in his time, proposed the famous principle in the field of microcosmic particles- the special and general relativism. This theory provided people a powerful tool to research atom. After that, he creatively put forward the new theory- photoelectric effect. As a physicist, he made a great contribution to the development of physics without involving any outside knowledge. At present, it is often seen that many papers which have great influence are developed by insiders.

On the other hand, with the rapid development of science and technology, people try to find new methods from other fields for advancement other than putting efforts on their own fields. In fact, it is verified to be an effective method. Through learning from different fields might they broaden  vision and enrich their knowledge range. Through communication with scientists from outside fields, scientists might find new inspiration. For example, when some physicist introduced some theories into chemistry, a new subject-chemical physics- came into being: when chemist introduced some elemental theories into biology, the biochemistry generates. New discovery and invention might be easier to occur when different subjects crossed. Another example in point is aeronautics which origin from combination of electronic, computer, mathematics, mechanics.

In sum, the author’s contention that no field of study can advance significantly unless outsiders bring their knowledge and experience to that field of study is too absolute. Learning from other fields is only one means to bring breakthrough. We should make good use of our intelligence to propel the science.
