TOPIC: ISSUE175 - "It is always an individual who is the impetus for innovation; the details may be worked out by a team, but true innovation results from the enterprise and unique perception of an individual."

In an era of rapid development in both society and academia, innovation as well as method to achieve it attracts more and more attention from every sphere. And controversy over whether individuals or groups truly impel innovation is ceaseless and calls for a balanced answer. Since history reveal numerous accomplishments completed by genius individuals and by the combination of these great thoughts, I would argue that both sides should be attached proper importance on in order to innovate continuously.

Individuals' thought weighs heavily in certain innovation especially in scientific breakthrough. The establishment of the two branches of modern physics is such an example. When young Einstein endeavoured to discover principles behind the nature, no forerunners or colleagues is capable to lend hands to him. However arduous process of the establishment of relativity theory, Einstein achieved it all alone. Similarly, Bohr's quantum theory resulted from his basic thought that truly commences a new innovation. Since thoughts from individuals can sometime reveal visions from other perspectives, some profound and far-reaching innovation like Einstein's and Bohr's results from these distinctive thoughts which significantly convert people's viewpoint.

On the other hand, individuals' thoughts, however innovative, sometime fails to be took into reality due to the lack of cooperation. For instance, ambitious politicians always have their compelling thoughts including some further measures. However, when they reject compromise or specific changes in these thoughts without loss of the essential part, or when they overrate the importance to popularization and interpretation to the public, or when they fails to tolerate the scrutiny from mass media, their innovative thoughts will surely face obstacles difficult to overcome. The death of Greek philosopher Socrates and British political theorian Moore results from their utopian dream in some respects. Although innovation nowadays still requires inspiration from them, Socrates' and Moore's theory fails in their ages because of the neglect of other factors like cooperation and compromise.

Nowadays, teamwork is put more and more emphasis on since it not only fulfils the details of individual thought but also creates new innovation by combination of previous innovation. Invention of atomic bomb is accomplishment by the teamwork from different fields. In the Manhattan Project, physics provided the academic principles in atom theory, chemists discovered methods to refine radioactive elements, politicians took their responsibility to throw diplomatic pressure on enemies, and air force exercised everyday in preparation of throwing this new bomb. All the teamwork efforts contribute significantly to invention by collection and synthesis of every innovation from every person in every level.

In summary, efficient teamwork realizes full potential of all members, and only by this way could inspiration of certain individuals be brought into the accelerating flow of innovation.

感觉这一部分不是很好，题目是关于innovation是否主要由个人作出的issue，而你论述的却是“individuals' thoughts, however innovative, sometime fails to be took into reality”，其实就他们的思想来说，相对那个时代已经是一种innovation了，我个人认为这一段有跑题的危险

原子弹的例子论述得也不是很好，政治家向敌人施加压力对Manhattan工程有什么影响？军队飞行员的训练似乎也不包括在这个工程里头吧？不过你可以说下数学家的贡献，比如John Von Nouma
