183. Films can tell us a lot about the country where they were made. What have you learned about a country from watching its movies? Use specific examples and details to support your response.

As one of the most popular way of entertainment, films is welcomed by everyone in every country, for it can not only teach us about foreign history when watching but also tell us about the local culture and customer.

When reading through books of the history is a way of learning the past, watching a film about the relating topic is much better. For the film is less boring and save us a lot time. For example, when my friend heard that I wanted to read the history of Chinese farmers’ fighting against Japanese, she recommended me an old film. That very film showed me the theme of how Chinese farmers fought with the Japanese in an interesting way and I learned something new. If I had to go to the library to look up in the book, the time of finishing reading would be so long, not to mention that the books were so boring compared to the film.

Also, films can tell me the local custom and culture, which saved me so much troubles and money to go visit the country. From the films, I learned that: American people are hospital; the French people are romantic; the Indian people are traditional. Beside these, I learned some culture in some countries. For example, the Arabic people shake their heads to say yes, while nodding heads means no there; and in Singapore, a person cannot catch thieves helping the police on the street, for it means interfering them carrying on their duty. There are so many things I learned from the film that they are countless.

In conclusion, watching films is a beneficial way of learning about the country where they were made. It teaches us histories and other subjects as long as we are interested in a way not only saved us time and entertain us. Simply put, I learn a lot from watching films.

这个题目比较难写。个人觉得可以比较泛泛地举一两个例子，比如通过美国的西部电影，了解美国的牛仔文化等；通过法国的文艺片，了解法国人的浪漫和幽默等。如同外国人看张艺谋的电影，了解中国的传统文化一样~~~
