advertisements is a waste of a company's money and time because consumers have known what they want to buy.
With the globalization of economics becomes profounder, the competition among corporations of similar industries has been severe day by day. Managers try to adopt different measures to strive for a big revenue. Based on the ability to convey fashions and spirits, advertising is of those efficient ways. Consequently, I disagree with the version that advertisement is a waste of time and money.
To begin with, consumers don't know which product they want to buy without any advertisements (?). Advertisement could reflect the type that in trend of fashion. Before buying a product especially that cost a considerable amount of money for example a laptop, as the first step, I always view abundant advertisements to select out one or two types that seems popular. By viewing ads, I can have a basic sense of laptops in this period. Although I still have to refer to the introduction of a salesman who want to sell the goods of a company he belongs to, and the voice of someone who has already bought it, the awareness of types of each product in fashion helps me a lot distinguish a truly good computer system from an impersonal remark. Besides, I could be capable to narrow the range of the kind I need instead of searching one product among thousands ones of various categories.
Additionally, advertisement is a way to convey the culture of a product or even the company, which can be used to influence the potential customers. Advertisements, typically for those that on TVs, not only give audiences a visual enjoyment, but convey a culture or, saying, a spirit. Taking the promotion of Adidas as an example, in its promotion video, a man tearing swiftly in the track with the slogan "Nothing Is Impossible", suggesting a spirit of invincible. The consumer group who admire this spirit will have a resonance with it, and probably decide to buy the product he wouldn't want to have.
It is the fashion element and spirit or cultural it reflects makes advertisement be able to affect customers efficiently. So it is obvious e that advertisement is not a waste, but can influence target customers adversely. |
