7、"The video camera provides such an accurate and convincing record of contemporary life that it has become a more important form of documentation than written records."

As for the issue that which is more important between the video camera and the written records just as the speaker concerned. I fundamentally share my argument that the significant of written records is lasting and profound. That is to say, in my point of view written records is more important than the video camera.

Admittedly, I concede that the video camera indeed can provide some accurate and convincing records such as different voices or appearances in various situations which are not availabe in written records such as books, newspapers and so forth. For instance, in some cases, these details are helpful and useful in detection which can be used to addressing the tough problem effectively while in the past we can only through the way of description in language or sketchy to identify criminals which was proved to be of no effect.

However, comparing with written records, it is clearly that reading written records can fully develop the imagination and thinking of readers while during the process of watching video most of people do not make use of their abilities of imagination and cognation because of the restriction of picture and sound. Consider, for example, if we were reading the famous novel of "The Old Man and The Sea", we could not help imagining the picture of the fight between the old man and the stunning big fish which may beyond the wildest dream of the director. Accordingly, with the continuous practice of imagination, the abilities of understand and imagination can be improved dramatically. On the contrary, just through watching the films, audiences often
mechanically follow the development of plots which have been assigned by the directors
Grounded in that fact, it is simply to conclude that we can benefit much more from purely watching videos.

Moreover, the contents of written records are far more abundant than the video camera for the reason that the history of written records is much longer than the video camera. If we cast a look back at the history of written records, it may be surprising for us to find out that the history of papers can be derived from the Qin dynasty which is the first dynasty in the history of China two thousands years ago. At the same time, the technology of video has been merely invented for one hundred years, let alone a large scale use. From the time angle, we can know the contents of the written records are much more than the ones of the video camera. Because of the above reason, no matter what others may say, the difference in the history between written records and the video camera can clearly demonstrate the importance of written records.

To sum up, it is true that video camera processes more accurate and convincing details than the written records, but we cannot draw to the conclusion that written records is not as important as the video camera in that the influence in the history and thought of human of written records, undoubtedly, is stronger than the video.

Admittedly, I concede that the video camera indeed can(建议删掉can) provide some accurate and convincing records such as different voices(如果你是想说音效,还是sound合适) or appearances in various situations which are not available in written records such as books, newspapers and so forth. For instance, in some cases, these details are helpful and useful in detection which can be used to addressing the tough problem effectively while in the past we can only through the way of description in language or sketchy to identify criminals which was proved to be of no(little是不是比较好,完全没有效果有些…) effect.

If we cast a look back at the history of written records, it may be surprising for us to find out that the history of papers can be derived from the Qin dynasty which is the first(呃,老外可能不知道,但是夏和周呢。。。) dynasty in the history of China two thousands years ago. 思路还是可以的,语言确实可以再提高。
