Every individual has a different way of studying, where one finds it easier to understand and comprehend the matter he or she is studying in his or her own way of learning. However, upon the question, mastering the concepts and ideas is(is 提前到mastering 前面) more vital than learning facts? Different people hold different opinions due to their various backgrounds and knowledge. From my personal angle, I am in favor of the opinion that learning facts is more important than understanding ideas and concepts. This point of view is based on the following reasons.
First of all, many theories and concepts are come from facts attained through experiments. As is known to all, scientists had conducted thousands of experiments and observed millions of activities and phenomenon before they got the final conclusions and the axioms. There are numerous instances closely fit the notion, just like Einstein. As a brilliant scientist, Einstein, in order to find the theory of relativity carried out numerous experiments. Also, observation and learning of the facts can be helpful to cultivate the interest in our subjects, because through the vivid imagines of the true materials and the facts we can get a deeper memory towards that subject. So I think learn facts is more significant for students.
In addition, the ideas and concepts are too abstract for students to master it. Many ideas and concepts are (去掉)exist in thought and not have a physical or practical existence, so they can not be deeply understand(understood) from textbooks or only learn (learned) from teachers. You should learn it by memorize the each of facts(by memorizing each facts), so you can obtain the only idea. Statistical reports from the Center of Students’ Development in Hong Kong demonstrated that students who always observe and discover the truth through directly getting touch with the facts, often gain far more knowledge than people who only learn the ideas and concepts. Suppose (supposing) without facts, how can we put ours understanding of ideas and concepts into use?
Furthermore, if students ignore the facts and only learn ideas and concepts, it would harmful to(harm) students’ further career development. We should know facts are the root of concepts and theories, just like we built a house could not have the groundwork (读上去有点别扭,试试just like buildings can not be constructed without foundations). For instance, when we graduated from university and went to work, we should make sure all the facts and aspects are in place before we do a project. If we ignore the facts of a project we may make some mistakes and can not remedy. Therefore, the most striking conclusion is obvious that if we want (to)
get a good grasp of concepts and theories we must primary (primarily) understand the facts.
To sum up, although teaching ideas and concepts has several benefits, they can not surpass the overwhelming advantage of learning facts. So taking into account all the factors discussed above, we could safely come to the conclusion that it is more important for students to learn facts than to understand ideas and concepts.
哈哈,写的不错啊, 稍微改动了下.马上要考试了吧?
