Is it the case that studying history only help us to break down the illusion that people in different periods are basic same as the speaker asserts? I concede that the human basic nature are remained the same throughout the history. However, I do not agree with the speaker when it come to the benifits of studying the history because the speaker overlooks many other senility which are also assume considerable roles in any development.

Admittedly, when retrospect the history we can gain the facts that human nature does not change as our society evolves. Some human natures-tenacity and honesty, as well as courage and bravery- are permanently appreciated by any society throughout the whole human history. Think about, for example, the great leaders, Gandhi in India who fighted all his life for the freedom of his people, Martin luder King in America who contributed himself to the liberty of the slaves, both are respected by the contemporary people as well as afterwards people. Similarly for the purpose of people's existence. From the original society to our modern world, the basic gaols of life is to survive which is never changed although the society has been evolving all the time. Thus, through the studying of these facts, we can see that history indeed helps us to understand the common spirits that every society appreciates and spares.

However, a further examination we will find that apart from the similarities mentioned above, the benifits of our society are beyond that. When studying or reading about the past, we can get a thoroughly view of a social culture, the evolution of a society, and the spiritual development of a certain group of people. For instance, when study about the long history of China, we can get to know that the Chinese regard themselves as the generation of dragon and they respect dragon as a scared individual. We can also get why they have Spring Festival while the Western Countries have Christmas Day, and the Chinese bides have to step over a fire bason on the wedding day for the purpose of exocising.

In addition, through the studying of history we can learn lessons from the past and prevent ourselves from making the similar mistakes previous people made. History teches us that some ways do not work in dealing with a certain kind of problems. For instance, after experiencing the great depression and the Asia economic crisis, we are more confident in coping with this subprime mortgage crisis and I am sure we will overcome this fluently with the lessons and and experience we get from the former crisis. Therefore, studying of history can help to guide us in the social evolution.

To sum up, the benifits of studying history is various, and they are not only lied in broading our view of the living and mental conditions of people in different eras but other ways of express its benifits like altering people making false decisions and providing a developing progress of a specific culture.
