考试临近，心情越来越复杂，希望大家给些建议，让砖头来得更猛烈些吧。（反正我家住医院）
"The way people look, dress, and act reveals their attitudes and interests. You can tell much about a society's ideas and values by observing the appearance and behavior of its people."

Text body:
The speaker asserts that just through people’s look, dress, and act, we can realize their thought about society’s ideas and values. In my view, while in certain respects the habits and customs of a people are accurate indicators of their attitudes and values, in other respects they are not. So we cannot only judge a person’s society’s ideas and value by one or two standards or criteria, the right way is to consider in a more comprehensive way.

First and foremost, there is no denying that we can conclude one’s behavior or appearance by looking into one’s value or attitude toward society and the whole world. There is an old saying: eyes are the windows of human heart. I quite agree with it. When we are talking to others, by watching his or her eyes or face, we can properly know what they are thinking at the moment. For example, dating back to our childhood, teachers liked to ask us some questions in the class, which we did not know the answers, our face may print red in a short minute. This indicates that you have no idea about that. What’s more, walking in the street, we can see many people are wearing various clothes, some of them look distinct from others, and perhaps they are minority. Therefore, it is true that we can judge a person’s thinking and ideas by observing.

However, only observing one’s appearance and behaviors is insufficient to make the terminal conclusion about one’s society’s idea and values. We need find more clues to make such assertion. Walking in the street in NYC, there are many different people which come from different countries around the world. Some of them dressing like a gentleman at first glance, but who knows he is a terrorist from the Mideast? Many times we are cheated by our eyes, to be exact, by our intuition. Appearance is not reliable sometimes, the safe way to realize one person is to contact with him.

In order to know about a society, one should blend into the social big family, not just by observing one or two people to know about it. Even you can get acquaintance in some extent; the knowledge about the society must be so limited and biased based on each single person has different attitudes or values towards society. People want to know a society well, the best way is to involve into the culture, history, and education there. By experiencing life there, one can get comprehensive aspects of the whole society.

In short, based on what I have mentioned above, we can safely make a conclusion that I just agree with the statement partially, considering the integrality of statement, we must add that observing appearance or behaviors is a good way to know society’s values and ideas, but it is not far enough just by these two aspects to make appropriate decision, other factor should treated also.
