下面是我的cover letter,根据你自己的情况充实吧.

Subject: 1.  APPLICATION to Change Status from F2 to F1
                                       2.  EXPEDITE REQUEST

Dear USCIS officer,

I am writing this letter to apply for the change of status from an F-2 dependent status to an F-1 student status.

I came to US in …. with my husband, …, who is studying in …... Although I have my own career and object ….., family is more important to me. So I accompanied my husband to USA. Now I wish to continue my education.

I was admitted to the ….program of University …..for the …. semester, 200.. in …., 2004. My research area in university would be …..

University offered me a Graduate Research Assistantship, including tuition waiver, insurance and stipend of $....per year to cover my living expense. So I have enough funds to support my study and life in U.S.

After my …education, I plan to….. I believe with my original experience and high level education in US, I can easily find a good position and have a good life in China.

下面是我的checklist，对即将转的人有些帮助吧
Checklist for changing status from F2 to F1
--------Part 1 of 2: My Documents

1. Check of $195.00 payable to the “Department of Homeland Security”
2. Cover letter for requesting the change of status from F2 to F1
3. Form I-539
4. My I-20 form for F-1 (Original)
5. One copy of my offer letter
6. One copy of my admission letter
7. One copy of my passport
8. One copy of my I-94 (both sides)
9. One copy of my U.S. visa
10. One copy of my previous I-20 for F2

Note: Part 2 is my husband’s documents

Checklist for changing status from F2 to F1
--------Part 2 of 2: My Husband’s Documents

1. One copy of my husband’s passport

首先恭喜楼主！请问楼主在哪个周？这么快？还有请问最近有没有能去墨西哥签证的了？听说取消了？我也将要转了。而且想如果到墨西哥转，半年内还可以回中国一次。但是不知道现在形势怎么样。哪位知道，能给点意见？这里的F2---F1的总结都是去年的，怕是形势变化的太快了！！
