J. Hennessy & D. Patterson还有一本好书《Computer Organization and Design the Hardware/Software Interface》，风格跟Comp. Arch.那本书类似，我看得是去年出的3rd edition，不知道国内有没有影印版。

还有一本，《parallel Computer Archetecture a Hardware/Software Approach》，是David E. Culler, Jaswindeer Pal Singh, Anoop Gupta写的，三位大牛分别来自Berkeley, Princeton和Stanford，还找来John L. Hennessy给这本书写forward，Hennessy在forward里面极力推荐这本书，发自内心还是帮朋友打广告不得而知，不过书的内容不错，风格还是跟Comp. Arch.那本书类似。我还没有看完，但是看过的部分都写得不错。

明天回国，要搜刮影印版，呵呵~wutherings给的这个reading list真及时，谢谢啦。

It is better that you suggest what you have read (finished) and what you think is worth to know, not a list of books that can be find everywhere. For example, this one. I do not think you have read through it, and it is too old and many subjects are misleading, (but of course some of them are worth to know). Choosing a book should not just based on authors are from ABC university. They are great scientists and researchers, but not always great writers/lectures.
不过呢，最经典最权威的还是《Computer Architecture: A Quantitative Approach》作者是
J. Hennessy & D. Patterson。前者是斯坦福大学校长，后者是伯克利的教授，这本书也属于
看完就无敌的类型。

This book is not as worst as my professor said:"the author does not speak English", but it is really difficult to read. You can see its errata for 3ed has 256 items (actually many errors are still out out there). And its 4th Edition was just published. It is the book that CS students need to read, but it is not the one for 1st/2nd year university students. (I don't think anyone wants to read through it). Most chapters are not expressed clearly, many examples are difficult to unstandand because there are not enough explanations. The authors are too smart, so they think readers should have those "COMMON SENSE" so could understand what they said. Reading it is a terrible experiense. :(

这两天没上线，一上来就看到wuthering的大作了，真的非常感谢！

Comp. Arch.那本别名“Hennessy & Patterson”
Comp. Orga.这本别名“ Patterson & Hennessy”……

第一本我看不懂……只好借了第二本回来看……惭愧

系统结构有本书叫“Computer Systems：A Programmer’s Perspective”，很不错，不少公司喜欢从里面出面试和笔试题来考察求职者的基本功。
William Stalling的那本操作系统也是公司的重点考察对象，CLRS就更不用说了。

偏工程一点的计算机书："The design of UNIX Operating System"，W.Richard Stevens的APUE，UNP和TCP/IP Illustrated都是经典。这四本是我老板指定的必读书目。

不过，我个人感觉现在最好的书是Google ＋ Answers.com（可以通过其访问Wikipedia）
我去年考SUB，除了黄蔚的书以外，就只靠Google和Answers.com了，实践证明效果还不错:)

这些书多数适合研究生阶段，要投入到某个方向的人
而且读懂会很累，当然学真东西本来就累

如果有人想找书，去amazon数星星，然后google基本就可以了，还有看知名大学的教材列表，也很有帮助
书分很多种，能被做教材的，可读性相对较好
