Kansas State University Department of Computing and Information Sciences is looking for undergraduate and graduate students interested in pursuing careers in computer and information security. KSU has security specialization options at undergraduate and Master's levels, as well as excellent security research opportunities at the PhD level. We have more than 4 courses entirely dedicated to various aspects of security, both introductory and advanced, and including special topics such as cryptography, secure distributed systems, privacy and anonymity, and low-power and ad-hoc systems. Throughout the academic year and the summer, interested students can participate in the Cyber Security Club, a security reading group, independent research projects, and several other exciting programs. Financial support for at least two years is available to incoming PhD students who have a history of high academic achievement and show exceptional promise for successful research careers in computing and information sciences. The initial offers a stipend of $24,000 per year plus full tuition support and will include both teaching and/or research duties in areas selected by the candidates at the time of application. Continued support is available contingent on availability of funds and past performance.
