When we concern ourselves with the study of history, we become storytellers. Because we can never know the past directly but most construct it by interpreting evidence, exploring history is more of a creative enterprise than it is an objective pursuit. All historians are storytellers.

思路：从历史研究的方法和历史研究的目的入手，对比讲故事来体现历史研究的客观性、科学性，从而得出结论，历史研究是客观的探索，不是创作。历史之所以被人们感觉象是故事是因为客观存在的时空差。
When we concern ourselves with the study of history, the events happened before was so far away from us that we are easy to make a mistake that they are seemed as stories, and the historical characters are viewed as roles in stories too. Exactly it is an illusion, because whether the method of studying history or purpose of studying history can prove the fact, that exploring history is an objective pursuit and a serious science. Historians are not storytellers.

How we know about the history events so clearly? Historical materials and data help us a lot. When we concern about the method of studying history, we cannot ignore the process of collecting these objective data and materials, such as old annals and cultural relics and so on. These data are actual records of the past, and the collecting process is quite serious. In order to researching the relations between these data, historians adopt abundant scientific means like probability analysis and illation on the basis of materials. As a result, a quite integrated, believable history event is presented in front of people. For instance, historians have made some customs of the ancient Egypt well known to present people by researching the Egyptian pyramid, all the analysis are easy to be accepted through their publicizing the investigation course. Oppositely, as we all know, the story is a kind of literature works, which are made up by people by imagination and romancing. A storyteller need not to researching the objective relations between plots and characters, in fact all these are originate from subjective consideration.

Next we can compare the purpose of history study to that of storytellers. It is the true purpose of history study that human can know more about themselves through history, and human could discover some more rules of the society development by contrasting to the past. Only when the materials historians provide are objective and exact, the purpose would come true. Apparently the purpose of storytellers is different, they need not consider much about the past, the present, and the future of human. Same as other literature works, the stories give the readers or listeners enjoy and illumination. In some way, the storytellers endeavor to make their audience feel the charm of the works as much as possible. But there is a type of literature we should not ignore, it is history novels in which writers always combine history with stories. 单单看这段写的还可以吧，但还是感觉你结构上可能有些问题。
怎么也得在第一句把观点写出来吧。

好像再说了两个方面，每个方面都是分两种情况进行分析，然后得出结论，这两种情况是不一样的。
我不知道这样好不好，反正我还是老观点，写三段，对自己支持的观点进行正面和反面的论证，再加上一个让步段。真的仅是我个人观点。
如果像你这样写，我觉得再写一段，说除了这两个方面，其他方面的比较也可看出两者是不一样的，更完整一些。

写了将近2个小时呢！汗~我觉得在自己思路和语言都畅通之前还是不要限时的好。
cultural relics 是我查金山词霸的，文物。实在不知道这个词怎么写。
你说的对，我应该把自己的观点在段首就亮出来。刚写完的时候还自得呢，觉得这是进步较大一篇，还是经不起考验阿！

我觉得你的文章中文提纲很有深度的，文章从比较入手，但是好像比较多的在陈述一种事实，缺少分析的力度。还有我觉得你的关于时空差的那个观点挺好的，只是你文章里面好像没有体现，你可以考虑一下把它放在文章开头处，来说明为什么人们会有把历史研究作为讲故事的误解，然后再展开思路，进行对比和批判。这样是不是逻辑性更强一点？
我的作文写的不好，随便说说，如果说的不好，请原谅，还是很喜欢你的思路的，给我了一些启发。我最近参考了许多文章后耶写了这篇，也请大家看看吧

When we concern ourselves with the study of history, we become storytellers. Because we can never know the past directly but must construct it by interpreting evidence, exploring the history is more of an enterprise than it is an objective pursuit. All historians are storytellers.

All human beings have to admit that no person can truly know any particular past that the person did not experience first hand. In views of this some of them hold the opinion like the assertion above and equate the exploring history with a creative enterprise. However, I do not quite agree with this statement. Although people cannot neglect the deductions existing in some periods of the history, the historians are never the storytellers for their deduction must be on the basis of facts which cannot be altered by the wishes and the inclinations of the human beings.

1对于当时缺少历史资料或仅为片断的历史时期，可以发挥适当的创造力，重塑历史，方便人们研究。
On the one hand, when it comes to the people and the events that had existed in the eras remote from today, creative plays an important role during the exploring of history. In some stages of the history, human beings of that time did not have the consciousness to record their history, even if they had the impulse to do so, the technology and the circumstance limited the means to preserve their history. Therefore, today’s human beings find the records and the information in those eras are very little, or the records are in a so fragmentary condition that historians cannot reconstruct the history from the limited information. In this sense, the historian should use the creative analysis to reconstruct the original picture of history.

2这种主观创造性的发挥是不同于storytellers，是要基于事实太多的主观会扭曲历史。
In other hand, the creative thinking of historians is quite different from that of storytellers, which must base on the facts of history, and should stand up to the historical research in future. The storytellers always recount or exaggerate some people and events in the past as their wishes or inclinations, whether they had appeared or not. This kind of description always accords with the wishes of the general people. Only a few of them would use the facts or evidence to prove the reality of these description, even though many people have the idea that these stories are different form the original picture in history to large extent. However, the creative deduction and the subjective analysis of historians must base on the facts and historians should not put too much personal inclination and bias into the process of historical study, otherwise the research of history whose nature is an objective process would be distorted. In other word, different from the storytellers, the subjective involvement cannot over-emphasis too much due to the objective nature of the historical exploration, though it is indispensable for historians to construct the history with the limitation of records.

3随着科技进步，人们保存历史的手段也先进起来，因此，主观性的发挥也会减少
In addition, with the development of science and technology, people have more and more advanced means to preserve their history, which would limit the subjective involvement to a least extent. For example, with the help of the written records, the historians could understand the past history more clearly, and with the help of the pictures taken by the video camera the historians would be aware almost whole condition of the pats events. In this sense, the historians would have little space to make use of the subjective and creative thinking in studying the history with plenty of the relevant records.

In general, only when it comes to the history with limited or no records about what had occurred at that time, the study of history has to need subjective and creative involvement. But once there are sufficient evidences to justify the actual situation at that time when history happened, the exploring of the history calls for more objective involvement of the historians.
