After years of learning different majors, I find my real interest in computer science. In my previous study, I was exposed to many topics related to computer systems and networks, such as surgical software designing, scripts programming and laboratory website operations. I found that I really liked to use computing skills/techniques to solve problems in my subjects, so I want to learn more deeply and systematically.

3. 你为什么选择这个学校的这个专业

First of all, I really like this subject (computer systems networking), and want to learn it more deeply and systematically.

I chose CMU because CMU is my dream school, and it is one of the best universities in Computer Systems and Networking. Participating in high quality CS courses there will fulfill my interests.

For my major MSIN, it provides students with specialized curriculum combining computer science, information systems and business education, which will offer me professional training to make values in my future career development.

4. 讲一下你的学术背景

My undergraduate major is physics at Central China Normal University, followed by my first master major in Integrated Life Sciences at Peking University, where I engaged in many computer-systems-networking-related projects, like designing automated surgical software system, scripts programming and laboratory website operations.

5. 你为什么选择读二硕，为什么不读博士学位？

PhD program is long term and big commitment, I might take it after I learn more about this field.

Secondly, I found my interest in applying computer networking techniques to solve real-world problem. Therefore I want to have as much hands-on experience as possible. So I think this industry-oriented program is the perfect match for me.

6. 你毕业之后的计划

After graduation, I will to go back to my hometown Sichuan directly. Because I’m the only child in my family, I have very close relationships with my parents and grandparents, and it’s my responsibility to be accompanied with them and take care of them.

Besides, these years the demand related to information technology in Chengdu (provincial capital of Sichuan) has been rising, which requires high-quality talents in computer systems design. I also [like/treasure] Chengdu’s high quality of life, moderate cost of living and vibrant economy, for which I can both be with my family and pursue a job of my interest.

7. 谁资助你？你的父母是干啥的？

My parents are my sponsors, they set aside a sufficient deposit for me, about $100,000 a year. And my father is an equipment manager works for Deyang Turbine Company, and my mother is a doctor of traditional Chinese medicine that works for Deyang orthopaedic Hospital.

8. 有人和你一起旅行？

Yes, his name is Chenyue Zhao, he is my boyfriend and he will also go to CMU to study for a Master’s Degree program. We are both interested in computer system technology, and were both admitted in computer science related program. Thus, in Pittsburgh we will live and study together.

9. 可以和我说一下你的这位同行人录取了什么项目吗，他未来有什么打算？

He was admitted in MS in Mobile and Internet od Things Engineering, which is MS-MITE. This program basically focus on developing embedded system and distributed system for mobile devices.
