这句话不是GRE上的，是金融时报上的一句话，咨询一下

Normally, being not much given to apocryphal prognostications of that sort, I just hold my breath and wait for the pollen, and the pundits, to go away.

这句话前半句的语法如何理解？如果变成主动，似乎是give apocryphal prognostications of that sort to me，me作主语改被动为什么是现在这样的形式了呢？感觉似乎应该是being not much given apocryphal prognostications of that sort to。

是不是这么回事：本来是give sth to me，当sth太长时后置为give to me sth，然后变被动成I am given to sth这样子？

来自OALD的解释：
give sth to sb/sth: devote (time, thought, etc) to sb/sth 将（时间﹑ 思想等）用於某人[某事物]: I've given the matter a lot of thought/given a lot of thought to the matter. 我对这事已反覆思考过. * The government should give top priority to rebuilding the inner cities. 政府应该优先重建城内旧中心区.

但given的时候还有一个：be given to sth/doing sth be in the habit of doing sth 有做某事的习惯: She's much given to outbursts of temper. 她老爱发脾气. * He's given to going for long walks on his own. 他习惯於独自散步走很长的路.

be given to是一个习语。
