虽然技术类相对简单,还是把握不好,不知道有没有跑题哦
Issue151
------题目------
High-speed electronic communications media, such as electronic mail and television, tend to prevent meaningful and thoughtful communication.
------正文------
Do high-speed electronic communications media tend to prevent meaningful and thoughtful communication? Some people may claim so; however, I generally disagree with this statement for the chief reason that in my view, high-technology media will not hold back but facilitate meaningful communication among people if people make good use of them, although there is indeed more futile information than before.
Admittedly, because of the convenient of these communication media, especially television and internet, there are many advertisements and other meaningless information which are probably one of the factors that change the ideology and value system of public and thus affect the meaning of the communication among people. After all, people who watches TV or sits before the computer all day long is much likely to be affected by those teleplays, movies, talk shows or some contentions published in the internet. Thus, improper use of these media, such as, merely paying attention to the senseless information, may make one superficial.
However, in my point of view, the ideology of people is affected mainly by personal experience, education, society, and the like, of which the media is not the most significant one. If one really has profound insight and thorough opinion, then it is not likely that he or she will be misled by garbage. Thus, the real meaningful and thoughtful communication will not be diminished just because of the high-speed communication media.
Moreover, these new media have great advantages and convenience in the communication among people. Take electronic mail for example, this communication medium makes it possible that one can receive the message from another who is perhaps in the other side of the world in just several minutes, if they each have a computer with them. It was incogitable just one hundred years ago, not to mention several thousand years ago, when the letters are delivered by mail cart or even by carriage and it would cost several days or longer. Also, if those who are really insightful make good use of the electronic mail, they will also benefit from this media because they can exchange their thought more efficiently and perhaps thus discuss one problem more thoroughly.
Again, consider television, which is perhaps the most widespread and influential media in our daily life. Despite many flimsy teleplays and other entertainments, people can gain much knowledge of any place in the earth through television, including their geography, climate, custom and so on; people can also learn about every significant events, whether politic, economic or scientific, taking place all over the world in the first time; what is more, people can study much general or professional knowledge about many aspects, including science, art, music, language and so forth. With these numerous information, they may consider one problem more comprehensively and more objectively; also, they may discuss more meaningful and useful issues considering the actuality of the word and the demand of the society.
In sum, new technological media today are much more convenient than before, accordingly, we can get more useful information, can consider one problem more comprehensively and more thoroughly, and can work more efficiently. It is true that there is much senseless or even misleading information delivered by these media, however, it will not affect the most essential thought of people if they are used properly.
