For the persistent harmony and development of our society, schools should cultivate students’ abilities of confrontation as well as cooperation(表达有点问题,改成:As the development of social harmony, students should be cultivated abilities of cooperation as well as confrontation), since these (are) indispensable to innovative(original) learning. In my point of view, it is somewhat unilateral(这个词用的好) to tell which the major goal of education is(which is the major goal of education), thus neither confrontation nor cooperation can be neglected in every school. (开头写的不错)
First of all, to doubt is a fundamental element of learning, even it is the action of skepticism that students incline to oppugn others’ assertions. Then students will be cultivated to strengthen their ability of critical thinking, master the knowledge faster and learn more through the confrontation.
On the other hand, no other than innovative spirit promote the development of society, economy, technology and so forth. It is just first step of innovation of people to challenge the former authorities in any times. As Descartes proposed the principle of generally suspecting, “I think, therefore, I am.” Elbert Einstein, showed the extreme hobby of physics and queried Newton’s classic mechanics because of his putting forward special and general Theory of Relativity, which revolutionized modern thought on the nature of space and time and formed a theoretical base for the exploitation of atomic energy. So in order to achieve the harmony and advancement of our society, schools should emphasize that suspecting and challenge play the extremely important roles of learning all the time.
Admittedly, it is incomprehensive to just consider the confrontation as the goals of education; also cooperation is another necessary element of learning and life. Students need to make greater efforts united cooperation, go on to develop, and strive for greater brilliancy. Not only to oppugn the assertions of others, but also to compromise and work with others, students can actually benefit from innovative learning. People get together in groups to do those things that are larger than one person. We can not imagine what it would be like to live in a society where each individual suspects everyone else, without any cooperation at all. How could Edison turn his innovative ideas into realities without cooperation? How could Magellan prove the earth is round with practice for the first time? We design airplanes, build roads and play basketball in teams. Therefore, cooperative spirit absolutely could not be ignored in every school.
To sum up, there is the interplay between confrontation and cooperation that, place too much emphasis on the need for students to compromise and work with others but ignore the significance of suspecting and challenge will damage the students’ creativity, likewise, if the need for students to challenge the assertions of others be overemphasized, we would far from achieve social harmony. In a word, confrontation and cooperation supplement each other, both of them are needed for social development.

2)有了相互质疑才回导至学术界总体水平的提高;如果一个观点被提出后就被视为真理,永远没有人挑战的话,会减慢人类技术的发展
3)有了各种各样的质疑观点,人们才会从不同的角度去看问题,保证了客观性
2.harmony:
1)团队合作的重要性,学校应该培养学生这方面的技能
2)促进学习,工作,研究气氛的人性化,人们关系更容洽
3.both are need
chanllenge assertion和harmony并不是矛盾的,不同情况下需要不同的品质,我们不能完完全全去相信一个观点,同时在探讨问题的过程中合作也是必须的. |
