ISSUE51. "Education will be truly effective only when it is specifically designed to meet the individual needs and interests of each student."

The author asserts that only individual-oriented education is truly effective; still others believe liberal education which aims at replacing an empty mind with an open one is necessary. From my point of view, however, individual-oriented education is essential to propagate knowledge and experience in such a knowledge-bombing era.

To begin with, “Interest is the best teacher. ” , a proverb said by Einstein___ the famous talent in theoretical physics, exactly reveal the real locomotive of education. The essential method education uses to cultivate new talents is to let them be led by their interest, not to design and plan for them, because the purpose of education is to cultivate new generations of talents who can function well in society. If failing to emphasize on interest of the students is occurring, they cannot function variety of functions in a talents-highly-demanding society, that is to say, if the current situation that is only score-emphasized throughout the whole global remains__ it means no revolutionary change on the pattern of education happens, it is certain that a myriad of talents are being and will be overwhelmed in the developing torrent of the era, in that case, so few talents such as Edison will survive to serve our accelerative-developing society.

Furthermore, individual-oriented education will make education much more effective. The ideal state lies in that all students find what their interest are and continue their learning all because of interest. It is not always that ideal, however, a mass of students cannot find their own interest in relative early ages, not to say develop them. So, it is necessary that the education should and have an obligation to discover and cultivate the students' interest, in other words, the duty for a school which conducts education is to inspire the interest of all the students so that all that they learn is what they really want to learn. The situation described above is just undergoing in some realms of education, such as the sports and arts. That is true, the students who is studying sports and arts can always find their interest__ the locomotive that makes them feel excited and full of energy when learning, which is quite different from most of the other ones who have to stare at the paper-based books__ these may not be their appetite. As long as the students finds their interest, they will be in an hungrily-learning state which makes the teachers' job much more easier and the education much more effective.

Honestly say, now, the situation without much individual-oriented education in our society is not optimistic. The case__ a lot of students are guided by the score, not their interest__ makes the education, to some extent, not as effective as it is hoped__ maybe it is more exact to call the undergoing situation a resource-wasted one. And the following problematic sate lies in that the education now proceeding is always called a mould which moulds all the students with the same type__ maybe a little sadness comes out of our hearts right now when hearing this, but it is just the case.

Even if the reality is of a lot of problems and the individual-oriented education seems that ideal, we still couldn't account too much on the individual-oriented education just from the actual view of our society. It is obvious that such an education is a resource-consuming one, that is to say, the expense will be so much that maybe no one can afford, and there won't be so many teachers to commit this kind of education. Also, the society may be somewhat confused due to the execution of the individual-oriented education which says all that important is the interest of the students. In essence, after all, to propagate knowledge__ the method giving more opportunities to the new generations for serving the society__ is the main purpose of education.

Without individual-oriented education, due to the mentioned above reasons, the society is, to some extent, wasting and losing talents; but with a delicate consideration about the reality, we can safely arrive at the conclusion that we need individual-oriented education indeed nowadays__ only with some barriers of our actual-in-existence society.
