we have cover several century in a the very short time,much too short to do the music justice of course,but then this is a survey course. from now and-until the end of the term we' ll be talking about and listening to the
electronic music.you probably already know
it was in 1960s that musical computers and synthesizers first appeared in university.the first
comercial synthesizers was sold -allabout
this time too. the sophiscation and complicacit-ycomplexity of these in thisinstruments has now increase to the point that they can re-produce almost any kind of sound .some alarmes-alarmist believed these new instruments were will bringing the an
end to of classical.music or they already have.i don;t share this view- with you,though i agree we are in the midst.in of the revolution in instrument design. this ,howeve,r is
not the first such revolution in musical history.probably the last one neither. .
remember, we have already study a similar case in early 19 century.the piano-anl replaced harpsicord and modern brass and wendwind instruments came into being.one of the most important reasons for great popularity
of electronic instruments is
of course
their relative ly cheapress cheap price. well , just look at it , only about four hundreds dollars for eletronic light on keyboard compareda to nearly three
thousand dolars for a piano.actualy this is a laudacra
lot to increase sailes of d electronic instrument. but i don't think the most ardent supporters of electronic instruments expect to completely replace the acoustic instruments

let's look back in-makin history to the earlier way of
where life.at and one time children didnt have to learn any more than hve cope with their phisical environment- diamond.
they had to learn- been tobe

to close to something dangerous .they didn't it need special school to learn these things other than school of experience.nor was school necessary for them than
they to learn how to survive. because their parents taught them all they day needed
to know about
how to they hunt and to- until they the soil .but the
society became more complex -work upon plact people depended -tend to more on others who were living far away.so it though they became important for children to read
to learn and
write. when we recreated money was created, it they needed to learn to count and calculate.children had to these thingss-no bething
organo in order to survive and in this new use expanded environment. because such skill could not be learn simply from- think to first hand experience.so the children can be taught what but we now called
