大家好，我是KSU CIS系的一名在读Ph.D. 我系今年会增发一些fellowships奖学金，有兴趣者请关注，想了解更多关于我们系的情况请到下文网站中查询或者通过签名中的Email(注：签名的信息是我导师的信息)咨询相关情况，谢谢。当然也欢迎大家跟帖，我会尽量解答。

Kansas State University Department of Computing and Information Sciences is proud to announce a new PhD Fellowship Program for Fall 2010.

The PhD Fellowship Program is designed to support several newly admitted PhD students. Fellowships include a stipend of $24,000 per year plus full tuition support, for at least two years.


PhD Fellows will be selected based on demonstrated academic achievements and exceptional promise for successful research careers in computing and information sciences. Fellowships will include both teaching and/or research duties in areas selected by the candidates at the time of application. Faculty research areas include bioinformatics, computer and information security, distributed algorithms & systems, formal approaches to computation, machine learning and data mining, multiagent systems and cooperative robotics, operating systems, real-time systems, scientific computing, information retrieval, sensor networks, and software engineering.

The application deadline is January 1st 2010, and early applications are encouraged.

顶一个，请问KSU　Fellowship是不是也要看你申请的方向需不需要人，要老师给你提名么？
钱确实给得比ＴＡ和ＲＡ要多不少，呵呵。
您知道ＫＳＵ数据挖掘方向如何？我刚去看了有个kdd的实验室，看了下mission页面介绍似乎data mining方向还可以。

我个人觉得和方向还是有关系的，毕竟老师们都是有科研方向的。他们的组据我所知很活跃，你说的那个组William Hsu应该是负责人，据我所知他们当前的projects很多

你们学校是不是GT可以先用复印件的？
我看见网页上说把scanned copy给email过去，但是又说同时要寄送官方成绩单，不懂什么意思阿。

应该是需要原件的，我当时是先送的复印件，但是也寄送官方成绩单了，他那样说是因为官方成绩单一般花得时间会长一些，所以你可以先寄复印件，但是原件也是必不可少的.

我是大四毕业过来的，我们这里的中国来读PHD的基本上都是大四毕业过来的，去年只有一个有MS学位还不是computer science的。当然如果有MS学位应该也有优势，毕竟有个明确的研究方向来了科研可以很快上手。

回楼上的。我们系应该没有预申请，你可以等成绩下来再送原件，没有复印件你可以在申请材料中指出来，我觉得问题不大

美国绝大部分学校都在农村吧，其实读书没必要在城市的，尤其是读PHD的

我本人就是做security的，基础课程我觉得是最重要的，你把自己兴趣爱好在PS里阐明，希望你来申请我们系，有什么问题可以继续留言。如果是研究生的话，把你做过的东西说明下会有很大帮助我个人以为。
