nowadays, the pervasive cliché and stereotype long held by sociologists and psychologist came into mass media that increasingly number of old people become less competent in human resource marketing, and therefore gradually losing their advantage ,such as experience and capability, accumulated from years after years working days was wide accepted by the citizen and civilian in most cosmopolitan cities and metropolis. In my opinion, however, this is a lame argument without sufficient facts or figure to support it. it is immutable, universal truth that it is the old people’s precious knowledge and invaluable experience that enrich the diversity of world and enlighten the wisdom of young people.
Firstly, old people play an indispensable role in human society because of their unique core competence and experience. In fact, old people is as important in guaranteeing the thriving of individuals and maintaining the orderly development of human society as parents are in cultivating their kids and teaching their the basic survival techniques. young people keep learning and imitating from old people and apply what they have learnt into daily work and study, which is the fundamental process for human society to grow and thrive. old people’s rich experience passed over generations and boost the variety of industry , such as education, science, technology and culture etc. take modern farming as a example: in the ancient society, people primary rely on farming and hunting to survive, their immature farming skill and hunting skills acquired from daily practices developed, and evolving from the tricks passed by generations into an independent ,matured subject in modern classroom of university that require students takes a few years to mater them all and to become a guru. Therefore , underestimating the importance of old people is similar to abandoning the past knowledge and culture we have inherited from ancestors.
Secondly, we cannot insufficient emphasis the importance of old people in instructing knowledge and imparting techniques to young people. Human society is not isolated entity and require inter-disciplines cooperation in order to prompt the development of education . In the current century, lots of tough problems, such as globally warning, ozone depletion and cardiovascular diseases, are waiting for young scientists and researchers to solve, if we cannot fix them properly , they may posed as a threat to our life and work in the future. Only by utilizing and applying old people ‘s existing experience and knowledge will young people develop a new perspective to analyze issues or problems , come up with new solution and will never fail to sparkle the new thoughts. Aged people is like a library which provide young people with lots of excellent books to read. A case in point is that in iron-casting industry, young people without experience about this filed was required to apprentice to a sophisticated artisan for a certain of time in order to get acquaint with the subject .
Thirdly, the seamless cooperation between old people and young people build an high competent and more productive organization. Working in any hierarchical organization, the human resource department will place different people to different position according to their competence, experience and age. old people normally be placed in the top of the pyramid not only experienced are they but their sophisticated interpersonal ability which enable them to tackle with complicated relationships. Organization will benefit a lot from such a complimentary working arrangement that place experienced ,old people in the management position and enthusiastic ,energetic and young people in engineer position. Only doing in this way, will old people and young people develop an mutual satisfactory relationship , which will finally become the assets of company and continues to nourish the life and development of it.
Nevertheless, old people play the roles of teacher, mentor and instructor. Young people will never grow up or being matured without them. young people play the role of learning and passing the knowledge and experience inherited from older one, but the informative, inspiring and instructive knowledge exists nowhere without old people. It is high recommended to combine the advantage, diversity and creativity of people from different age group and minimize their discrepancy by adopting the complementary cooperation, which raise higher standard for all the managers who wise to put forward the wheel of human’s progress. |
