Whether a poem, art, painting and literature is great or not generally depends upon the descendants.
Many scientific discoveries and technologies can be judged and decided by their contemporaries, but some can not.
When it comes to the business, many successes and greatnesses can be recognized only a few years.

"The well-being of a society is enhanced when many of its people question authority."
In recent years, people get accustomed to accept and believe anything they encountered. Although in some sense it is a good phenomenon, lacking critical thinking and spirit of questioning authority will be impede the society flourish.
Without courage of questioning authority, human beings can not improve and advance, though in certain condition critical thinking will bring about some problems. First consider Galileo challenged the Earth is the center of the universe.
Second consider Martin Luther King and Gandhi question legal authority, which led to enhance and preserve well-being.
168"Critical judgment of work in any given field has little value unless it comes from someone who is an expert in that field."
Unlimited critical judgment, no matter where it comes from, will harm the society even though it is worthy. It will harass and impede the research and study in certain field, when there are so many suspects and rejection from experts in its field or general people.
On the other hand, specialists will aid on enhancing and developing in their field through critical judgment.
Admittedly, not only the experts, but the masses also do assist developing and advancing in one field. Politics and economy.
