Having a look at all these several thousand years’ history of human beings, we could notice without difficulty that people are looking for everything innovative, more interesting, more convenient, etc. So it is quite unwise to say that what most human beings really want is not discovery and change but reassurance.

Discovery and change, though may be slight, are inevitable after all. The apparent thing is time, which never stops. Even if all the watches and clocks stop, time still passes by. And chemical studies show that molecules consisting of a matter are in perpetual movement. So does discovery, which is always accidental, hence inevitable. Except some try to discovery something by his own wish, which is not assuredly to be successful, most discoveries are occasional. Take the discovery of gravitation by Newton for example, if he didn’t sit under the apple tree that day, he might not find the physical conception, because even if he sat there another day, what he thought, the situation of his brain cells might be different so that to off no chance for him to find the gravitation.

Probably because of such property of incessant changing of matters in this universe, people have a natural inclination to look for change and discovery. It is always impossible for people to be satisfied with the present state as Newton to be satisfied with noting the phenomenon but not knowing the theory. So we can say that the discovery of gravitation is not only occasional, but also destined. It is Newton’s subjective will to think about the reason that prompts him to make the discovery. Nowadays, as people have undergone so much and so great convenience that change and discovery bring to them, they are eagerer to make more changes and discoveries which will lead them a better life. It is no surprising if a new product of computer or mobile phone containing an interesting function is reported. People are inured to this fast-changing world.

However, in certain cases people will be sure to want reassurance, that’s why they buy insurance, they want themselves to keep healthy, and their wealthy secure. Even more, we want the earth to go back to the original beautiful one without damage and pollution to the environment, with keeping the advanced situation. They are waiting for endeavor of all human beings.

In short, we should always cherish hope in the change and discovery, like Scarlet said in Gone With The Wind, ‘Tomorrow, after all, is another day!’------a brand new day!
