The speaker asserts that governments should focus more on solving the immediate problems of today rather than trying to solve the anticipated problems of the future. On balance, in my eyes(personal perspective of view), whatever(no matter what) the immediate problems or the anticipated ones are all considerable to be solved.
Firstly, governments should focus on solving the immediate problems, such as poverty, terrorism, disease, and so forth. After all, these current problems directly threaten the general(ordinary) people's lives and health. Take the poverty problem as an example. Around 27-28 percent of all children in developing countries are estimated to be underweight or stunted due to poverty. The two regions that account for the bulk of the deficit are South Asia and sub-Saharan Africa. Some people might argue that in rural areas is not the case.(this is not true OR the same) In fact rural areas account for three in every four people living on less than one dollar a day and a similar share of the world population suffering from malnutrition. Thus, their governments should put solving(删去) this problem on agenda. If current trends continue, how can these children grow up healthily? Let alone they will(would) make contribution to their countries in the future. Besides, the Millennium Development Goals target of halving the proportion of underweight children will also be missed by 30 million children, largely because of slow progress in South Asia and sub-Saharan Africa.
(Let us)Take another example, certain governments of countries put overemphasis on developing weapons and other aspects, rather than on the currently crucial education problem. Consider(删去), for instance, based on some data, about 72 million children of primary school age in the developing world were not (attedd the school)in school in 2005; 57 percent of them were girls. And these are regarded as optimistic numbers. By contrast, less than one percent of what the world spent every year on weapons was needed to put every child into school by the year 2000 and yet it didn't happen. Therefore, governments should not focus their attention upon weapon which is nowadays not so crucial, but turn a deaf ear to the immediate problem, such as the education problem above.
Nevertheless, focusing on solving the immediate problems does not means(mean) that we could ignore the anticipated problems. For example, the imbalance of gender ratio has become a serious problem in china.(大写) Gender ratio of newborns refers to the ratio of male newborns to female ones. The ratio is 119.92 in the china's fifth census in 2000. That is to say at the same time 100 female infants are born, nearly 120 male newborns are born. This number is much higher than the normal ratio from 103 to 107.
Although this imbalance of gender ratio of which the influence(语序!the influence of the imbalance gender ratio) has not yet been on display now belongs to the anticipated problem, Chinese government should take measures to solve the problem step by step from now on. Otherwise, If the high ratio remains unchanged, the so called" marriage squeeze" problem will emerge (emerge in), in other words, some young men cannot find spouses. At the same time, a series of negative social problems including rise of bachelors, increase of sex outside marriage and human abduction will be triggered.
Finally, if governments focus on immediate interests but ignore long-term interests, it is apparently unfair to our offsprings. Take environmental problem as an example. As we all know, the atmosphere and oceans are not the only parts of the environment being damaged. Rain forests are being quickly destroyed as well, and their survival is questionable. Assume that if we unconscionably pollute the environment and exhaust the resource, like the rain forests, how our offspring can survive in this planet. How will they complain their ancestors? Thus, we have a responsibility to protect the environment and resource not only for our survival but for the offspring's.(+sake) Furthermore, when we are trying to solve the anticipated problems, at the same time, we can also benefit from it(as well). For example, we can use genetic engineering to make many aspects of human life better, including saving lives: to cure diseases at the DNA level. This method is known as biotechnology and can aid in the treatment of diseases like hormone deficiency.
To sum up, governments should not only focus more on solving the immediate problems but also solve the anticipated problems. They should use a long-term vision to see problem and have a responsibility to make us and our offspring live better.
结尾和开头过于简略,其余还好,继续加油! |

I think no matter where you are, and whatever you are doing, there are always different challenges and tough tests from life whether you accept them or not. one of the most powerful cognitive thinking ability I learned from psychology is always be aware of the 'problems' -- distinct those catastrophic thoughts from the self from external events, and never let your negative emotions be part of the problems. after all, life is tough in someway we may not like it, we stilll need to be tougher in order to go over them. soo.. add oil and pray for a little.
life is short and people are great because of their dreams.
