Today, the high sales of popular consumer goals reflect the power of advertising and not the real needs of the society in which they are sold.

The modern life is stuffed with advertisements. We can see them on TVS, newspapers, magazines, and even on every transportation tools. Why so many advertisements have been created and occupy almost anywhere that has human activities? Obviously, the improvement of sells can be indeed brought to commodities.

Of course, someone may disagree that the high sales of popular consumer goods are the contribution of advertising. First, they may reckon that adults have the ability of rational analyze and the will of controlling impulsions. Although plenty of advertisements are so attractive that inducing people to shopping, adults have to make choice between varieties of goods and finally buy the one best suitable for him. What’s more, there are rarely someone that has the disposable income for intemperate shopping. Hence, the consummation reflects mostly the needs of the public rather than the power of advertising.

Do people really firmness enough to resist the temptation of which presented by advertising? Maybe looking to the increasing of the amount of luxury items in our life can help us find the answer. Gucci, Channel, LV and so on, these brands are almost firmly remembered by all of the girls and women and become dreams of them. You can see enormous girls or women who spend the whole month salary or even more just to buy one LV bag. I am afraid it cannot be the excellent quality of the bag make them so crazy, but the magic of advertising. Human beings are emotional animals. Advertising catching this shortage and induce masses impulsively go shopping.

In addition, almost everyone wants to look good in public and using the commodities which advertising by famous actor or successful businessman can give them the fictitious feeling of liking the person in these AD, even though they do not need those things.

Summarize, by advertising campaign, merchants give public a sense that further needs still exist and promote people to pay more for their better performances. That’s why the consume is much higher than the real need of the society.
