ISSUE17 - "There are two types of laws: just and unjust. Every individual in a society has a responsibility to obey just laws and, even more importantly, to disobey and resist unjust laws."

Should people obey the just laws and disobey and resist those unjust laws? For the first part, I could not agree more with that because our society would be peaceful only when people obey the laws. But for the second claim, I maintain that it is just an over-statement at least. We do not have the exact definition of what is an unjust law. And it is respectful to a whole society that everyone should obey all the laws whatever it is.
Aside from those unjust laws as the speaker asserts, for the just laws, it is our responsibility to obey them which is the way to assure our society to develop well under a perfect circumstance. Laws, no matter the just or the unjust as the speaker distinguishes, are made to regular people's behavior and are standards for people to make judgment according to our morals and our goals of development of the whole society. Consequently, for those absolutely just laws, we have to obey to make sure that everyone has the chances to make his or her life better. Image if no one would obey those laws, our world may full of crimes which are committed by people who want to enjoy a beautiful life without their own effort and people would feel unreliable and insecurity to this society not to mention the future of the society. As a result, everything would be in chaos. Then it is important and necessary for people to obey these just laws no matter where we are and when it is.
When coming to the section of the unjust laws, there is a question I have to ask: what is the a so-called "unjust law" .If the unjust laws that the speaker holds are the laws that is only unjust for a group of people in the society, I have to say that I cannot stand by the side of the speakers. Laws are the rules for the whole society and not just only for one or several groups of people. Some laws may seem unjust for some individuals from a personal perspective, but somehow you may find that they are just for the whole society. Take the law of the tax payment for an example. It looks not so just that people who have higher salary should pay much more rate of tax than the people with lower salary. But after a second thought from the perspective of the whole society, it is the most just way we could have. People have lower salary normally have more hard life. It is necessary for them to use more money on their daily lives. Besides, sometimes it is not their own reason to have such low salary and maybe they do not have the chance to make a lot of money. So living in the same world with the people who have higher salaries, it is the rich’s responsibility to pay more to develop the society.
Last but not the least, even there may be something wrong with some certain laws. We still have to obey them because as I mentioned before it is not just rules, it is the law which have already become the standards of the whole society. We can express our own opinion to the related department about those laws. However, before devising, it is necessary for us to show our respect to them. Or some people will show no respect to not only those laws with something wrong but also the other just laws and our society. As a result then laws would make no sense to people.
In sum, we should obey the laws no matter if it is just or not that just. Those unjust laws may seem not so just for some individuals. However, it is just for the whole world after all. And even if there are laws with something wrong, we still have to be respectful to those laws in order to show the respect to all the laws and our society.
