Mostly, it is currect, and 协和 has a number of successful doctors at US.
But this guy is in China right now, and it is 2009 now, so just some very little bit difference.
With J1 visa, you will need to go back for 2 years after 5 years in US. You can apply for waiver, then you will need to get a H1B support.
Here comes H1B, with H1B, you have 2 choices, very top hospitals or really not that good ones. There 2 groups support H1B for international ones because first ones with huge amount of money and also very competitive, the later ones could not get enough number of native graduates.
Then, guess one get H1B support, I will say he successes. However, without good papers, he will need to apply EB3 for GC, maybe. Then, it means he will not get it in another 10-15 years...... Then he will be very hard to get promotion or change of position. He can almost never open a clinic himself because the H1B is employer supported. The life will not be easy, high pressure will be always on his head.
So, why not do good reaearch at first and then get papers and then get H1B and be a docter while applying for a green card in EB1A or EB2-NIW, which is not employer based.
And for the example of 协和已经有刚毕业就来Taxas做住院医的先例了, this interlligent guy must have finished USMLE step 1, step2 CK in China. Then he finished step 2 CS in US and probablly step 3, supposing him without green card in US. Then he must be transfer student first to do that because the difficulty of getting B1 visa for just a exam, or he or she has a F2 or H4 visa to do it, then he or she will need to get marriaged with a guy in US first. Wow, add all these things together, you will know why there is only one example. And maybe he or she actually has a green card, mcould be family base or some other, like the one on our bbs. That will be totally another story.
Another thing is that, 现在开始办加拿大移民, 在你毕业的时候可能刚好用上。I do not know Canada green card helps anything in US. And become a docter in Canada? That will be really really tough, which country has less population and industry than just CA in US, which means very few open spots in the hospitals.
For the other parts, it is right. There are mutiple ways to become doctor in US, and the life here after residency is quite nice, although which probablly not as good as a good 协和 graduate from clinical medicine can get in China, which is the truth. That's why this guy keep talking about the 对人类的热爱. If somone for good life, and he can get good job in China, he should really double think about the final dicision. If some one comes for 对人类的热爱, or can not take the complicated net work in Chinese normal hospitals, coming to US could be a choice. BTW, the net work is still very important in US, although much more better.
很多人在40-50岁还在试, it is happening, not only Chinese, Indian guys, other international guys, but also American native guys. |
