In the listening material, the lecturer holds that the four-day work time will have a bad effect on the company. In contrast, the reading passage claims that it will benefit the company. So the lecture directly opposes the opinion in the reading.

First, the lecturer indicates that the cost of the company will increase if they transfer into a four-day work time, that is to say, the company must pay more training fees, medical fees，office space fees and computer fees for hiring more employers. It must reduce the profit of the company. In contrast, the writer holds that the four-day work time will make more profit for the company.  

Second, the speaker thinks that the company will not hire new workers and it will not bring any new job chance. On the contrary, they will force the workers to do five-day work in four days, so the workers must work over time. However, in the writer’s opinion, the four-day work time will reduce unemployment rates.

Finally, according to the listening material, offer a four-day workweek option will be a risk. It will reduce the workers’ work-ability and their life-quality. At the same time, it is bad for their chances of career. The four-day workers will be more easily to lose their job and be passed over for promotion. But the writer holds the four-day work time will improve workers’ the quality of living by giving them more free time. So this point also disagrees with the point in the reading.

In the listening material, the lecture states that the main reason of the Easter Island society declines should be the inside influences and there are some concrete evidences to support this idea. In contrast, the writer holds that the reason should be the outsider influences. So the lecture directly opposes the opinion in the reading.

First, the lecturer thinks that many trees had disappeared because with the development of Easter Island, the people had extra time and energy to use trees to move the status, then more and more trees were cut. They competed with each other. However, in the writer’s opinion, the trees were cut by invaders. So the lecturer’s point contradicts the idea in the reading passage.

Second, according to the lecture, more and more trees were cut, the people in Easter Island had no resources for them to make tools. So the tools were less than before, they can not catch fishes, then their live would be hard. As a consequence, they would have no time and energy to create the status. That should be the reason why the statues were less than before.  In contrast, the writer thinks that it is because the invaders moved the status.  

Third, the speaker states that after the people’s lives became hard, they may have less confidence of their religion, so they may try to develop a new god to ensure their better life. That is the reason why they have a new religious practice.  But the writer holds that the new religious practice may have been introduced by outsiders. This point also disagrees with the opinion in the reading.
