27.Good looks and dresses are more important for success than good ideas. Agree or disagree.- I+ j% E, Y: r$ k, v
The Chinese have an age-old adage, "Everybody has a weakness in physical beauty." In daily life, we find ourselves constantly confronted with (the) an question,” Are good looks and dresses more important for success than good ideas?" Confucius, the greatest philosopher and educator (of ) in ancient China, commented that "Fine words and insinuating appearances are seldom associated with true virtue." I believe (the) this quotation provides the answer to the question. In my opinion, appearances are highly unreliable as a approach to success
To begin with, personal stories in my life show that we should not judge people by their looks. (Meanwhile, the thoughts in your mind which are different from others and particular always make you in front of them. 这个句子没太读懂,建议删掉){The story of Sara, my college roommate and one of my closest friends, (这个插入语好罗嗦啊
是不是为了凑字数)is a perfect example.}Take Sara, my roommate , who just got a decent job (with 5000 RMB per month) as an example,. When she was in her last round of the job interview, she was competing against another girl who is gorgeous,( with huge eyes dark hair fair skin and a slim figure). However, (in the last round when the boss asked a question), Sara gave a constructive suggestion while the beautiful girl made an ambiguous statement and did not keep to the point in the last crucial question. (at last the boss said that Sara did a good job.) As a result, Sara got the offer.
Besides that (personal experiences and stories that), (great )some prominent people in the (past) history and present prove that judging people by their outward appearances is ridiculous. Always a deep mind and (huge )abundant knowledge( storage )would make people successful in certain areas. Take Napoleon for example., I was taught that Napoleon was a very short guy with a height of just 5'6" in (high school) history lecture (class). However, with his distinguished ( thoughts and )ideas, he is regarded as one of thee most illustrious military leaders and statesmen (of all tiem.) Can we judge Napoleon by his "external appearances?" Absolutely no! (Besides famous people from in the past, a brilliant scientist of todays world offers another perfect example. The name is Stephen Hawking. ).Take Stephen Hawkinking ,who is xxxx, as another vivid instance, (After I read an article in China Daily about him, I was already touched]. Due to a severe muscular disease, Hawking completely lost his ability of to walk and speak. (And it published a picture of him, when I saw it, I cannot believe my eyes!) He looks just horrible in my fist impression when I saw the his portrait. However, Hawking is considered one of the most illustrious physicists of the world. Let me ask you this, "Are the good looks important?" The answer is obvious.1 } r$ ?; T9 m3 k! T; D
In summary,( there is no way that
)it is apparent that outward appearances can not be (used )judged as a reliable standard to (judge )estimate if it is related to a person's abilities and success. (Personal expereances )As I mentioned above, this point is substantiated by famous people in the past and present abound with perfect examples. Actually, (this)it is one of the most common heritages of different cultures across the globe . As a result, we should look beyond others’ appearances and down into their real content.
