Be prepared to take the following to your visa interview:
A passport valid for travel to the U.S. with a validity date at least six months beyond the applicant’s intended period of stay in the U.S.
Original form DS-2019 (make sure to sign the form)
UC Education Abroad Program acceptance letter
A completed application, Nonimmigrant Visa Application, Form DS-156, together with a Contact Information and Work History, Form DS-158, and, if applicable, Supplemental Nonimmigrant Visa Application, From DS-157. Forms must be completed and signed.
One photograph in the prescribed format (see photo requirements at http://www.travel.state.gov/visa/temp/info/info_1287.html)
The receipt for the visa application fee.
The receipt for the SEVIS fee. If you have not received an official receipt in the mail showing payment and you paid the fee electronically, the consular office will accept the temporary receipt you printed from your computer. If you do not have a receipt, the consular office may be able to see your payment electronically, if your fee payment was processed at least 3 business days before your interview.
Financial evidence that shows you have sufficient funds to cover your tuition and living expenses during the period you intend to study.
Transcripts and diplomas from previous institutions attended.
Scores from standardized tests required by the educational institution such as TOEFL, IELTS, GRE, GMAT, etc.
Information that demonstrates that you will return to your home country after finishing your studies in the U.S. This may include proof of property, family, or other ties to your community.
