小弟第一次写作文， 希望大伙狠拍砖

The speaker asserts that governments should focus more on solving the immediate problems of today rather than trying to solve the anticipated problems of the future. It is tempting to agree with the arguer because the immediate problems are direct to our quality of life. However, I could only agree with the speaker partly, and my contentions with the speaker involves the fundamental concept of "welfare of people", as discussed below.
In the first place, we can not deny that the immediate problems of today is the core of the government daily working. Each government, labeling as the servant of people, it must put the immediate and urgent social problems on the first place, because if our government can not solve these problems, the entire society might be put into jepordy, and the authority of the goverment might be undermined. To support the argument, we can list a lof of evidence: many people in South Africa are now suffering from the starvation becausethe arid fields there are not arable, they need food and water; in every minute, one species on the planet would die out , these abjected animals need homes or shelters; recently,my country encounter the disarsteous calamity-the WenChuan Earthquake, large numbers of people lost their hometowns and relatives... In this sense, the support and concern from the  goverment is indispensible, and we must keep in mind that while government does not have overwhelming power, we need it to improve our life and to solve these immediate problems.
In the second place, the government can not ignore the problems in the future, for the history has already taught us many lessons. On the other words, if the goverment put the plans of solving the social problems of the future on the table, obviosly,  one day in the future, those problems might be considered as the immediate and the most crucial social problems at that time. At that time, the government must invest much more labors and money than today, and it might cause new social problems. In short, the whole social system will be put in a detrimental cycle. For example, the enviromental problems are such a provicing evidence. With the comking out the Industrial Revolution, many fractories burgeoned worldwide like spring asparagues, however, our governments did not notice that the environnmental problems would afflict us for a long time. No efficient measures had been taken at that time, and we could hvae the opportunity to limit the contamination  in  small regions. Unfortunetly, they have influenced the global climate, such as the greenhouse effect and make the ocean levels higher and higher every day to pose a threat to the citizens live on the coast.
The last but not the least, the immediate problems and the anticipated problems of the future do not impinge each othe, on the contrary, they can complement to each other in many cases. On this significance, the government should not step on any side, and the officals should not shirk the responsibility to trike a balance between the present and the future. For example, the hybrid rice techology can solve the starvation of the whole world, at least at the present time. The newest genetic technology has made the highest yield every are, and it appeals to solve the starvation problem. In addition, the development of the
aerospace technologies have already made it possible to plant crops in the space and might heavily improve the yield every year.
To sum up, the government should ignore any problem, no matter it is an immediate problem or a problem of the future, In short, the government must strike a balance between them : to solve the immediate problems as soon as possible to pave the way for a higher research , in turn , high level of science and technologies might benefit the solution abviously. If a government can make a great balance, it appeals to lead its citizens to a high quality of life.
