There is no denying that serious movies can nourish people’ minds, however, as a way of entertainment, I cannot agree with the topic that it’s better to watch serious movies than to amusing ones. To be more specific, watching amusing movies is a better way to release the pressure, understand the society and gain an optimistic attitude toward difficulties. The following more detailed examples and reasons will further strengthen my side.

Firs of all, the central importance for my side points to the true intention of the people going to see a film. Widely accepted, away from the hard working, most of audiences want to relax themselves and ease pressure. So the funny plots and interesting stories are the best choices. A survey by Entertainment last week reflected that nearly 80 present of audiences incline to choosing a relaxing movie to see, because it’s such a choice that makes them stay away from the reality filled with financial and psychological burden. Unlike it, seeing the serious movies means audiences must immerse into the reality again, and face it even more cruelly.

Not only does the first point justify my status, but the second also provides the full support, stating that the amusing movies don’t mean nothing but fun, and also it can reveal something important in a more easily way to gain. For example, during the movie Modern Times, one of Charlie Chaplin's masterpiece, the chief character always overcame the sudden difficulties although in a humorous way, but which had encouraged spectators a lot. Because not only did people gain the amusement, but also learn an optimistic attitude toward the tough life. In laughter, it’s more likely that spectators are willing to accept the role and keep it in mind, which will extend the wider influence of the movies.

Despite the above two convincing points, my third perspective can be proved by enhancing the belief in happy life. It is commonly accepted that there is nothing but laughing can have such a great infection, which can lead people into a wonderful world that you can believe everything will go well. For example, in Ace Ventura, a film of James Eugene, the man encountered with many troubles, but he always kept in a hopeful mode. His smile sign can spark the viewers’ believes and spread the positive attitudes, especially to the people in a hard time.

As a conclusion, although serious movies can make you think deeply, it is not better than amusing movies. Because it’s more likely to relief the pressure, learn from the society and gain an optimistic attitude toward difficulties through making laughter.
