TOPIC: ISSUE153 - "Students should bring a certain skepticism to whatever they study. They should question what they are taught instead of accepting it passively."
WORDS: 527          TIME: 00:44:26          DATE: 2010/1/1 1:34:20

As the world steps into the new 21st century which is regarded as an information explosion era, people can study and get knowledge through more manners such as serving the internet, watching TV programs and enjoying the benefits of other electronic equipments than they used to. However, the only invariable gospel in study that people should keep an incredulous attitude when they are learning is still contributing. So I agree with what the speaker claims and I will explain the reasons in two aspects.

To begin with, I should distinguish the difference between the world it is and the world it should be firstly. Everything existing in reality has its own rules to obey and the rules will not be affected by people's willingnesses. The fact that the earth moves around the sun and the fact that the molecules move ruleless are both the external world's principles which composes the world it is. However, these principles are silent that they cannot tell us what they are, how they work and so forth. Thus if we want to understand them, we must observe by ourselves, than concludes the principles based on what we have observed by ourselves. Eventually these principles which are formed in our minds compose the world it should be. So of course, in the process of transforming from the principles of the world it is to the principles of the world it should be we cannot avoid making mistakes. Just thinking about Aristotle's example, we will find some of his conclusions are so ridiculous, but nobody can promise that he will not make the same mistakes with the Ancient Greece philosopher when he digs into the truth of the world presently. In order to get known of the correct knowledge we should keep a skepticism mind in studying because what we study sometimes may not right.

Then after understanding the circumstance where human beings are in, we should talk about in individual's perspective. First, keep asking ourselves questions can help us get a further understanding on what we study. In the film, the silence of the lambs, the heroine follows Hannibal's questions such as what is it and what is its nature, then she finds the murder eventually. It is also suitable for studying. Second, being curious can make us devote ourselves all into the study and can bring up our interests to the subject we study. If we don't have interests in what we study, we will not have questions on it. Interests are the best teachers so in order to urge us bring up interests we should be curious and doubtful always. Last but not the least; we can remember the knowledge longer by asking questions than accepting it passively. The questions like a string of clues connecting pieces of knowledge in our mind. When we rethink what we have studied, we will gain not only the knowledge itself but also the thinking course of the knowledge.

To sum up, we should have certain skepticism when we are studying and learning just as the speaker claims. It can help the students learning better and it is suitable for the 21st information explosion trends.

As the world steps into the new 21st century which is regarded as an information explosion era, people can study and get knowledge through more manners such as serving(surfing) the internet, watching TV programs and enjoying the benefits of other electronic equipments than they used to.

Just thinking about Aristotle's example, we will find (that) some of his conclusions are so ridiculous, but nobody can promise that he will not make the same mistakes with(like) the Ancient Greece philosopher when he digs into the truth of the world presently. In order to get known of the correct knowledge we should keep a skepticism mind in studying because what we study sometimes may not right.(觉得这段的论证有问题,你想说的可能是书上的和实际的2者并不一样的问题,但是the world it is 和the would should be其实应该是事实判断和价值判断的关系,和质疑不质疑没有什么直接关系,你可以再想想)

Then after understanding the circumstance where human beings are in, we should talk about (it)in individual's perspective. First, keep(keeping) asking ourselves questions can help us get a further understanding on what we study. In the film, the silence of the lambs, the heroine follows Hannibal's questions such as what is it and what is its nature, then she finds the murder eventually(沉默的羔羊的例子好像不很好,最好能举在学习中不断质疑最后得到成果的例子会比较好). It is also suitable for studying. Second, being curious can make us devote ourselves all into the study and can bring up our interests to the subject we study. If we don't have interests in what we study, we will not have questions on it(这里正反关系是不是倒过来了,应该说质疑能够促进兴趣吧).

It can help the students learning(learn) better and it is suitable for the 21st information explosion trends(the trends of information explosion).
