为了提高大学的教学质量，所有的教职员工应该去校外参加一些和他们教的课程相关的工作。

The author suggests that all faculty of college and university should spend some time working outside the academic world in order to improve the quality of instruction at the college and university level. I partially agree with the author's point of view that in some subjects which fully related to practice should really need faculty pay attend on;as other areas like some science object which need lab experiment or expert art which can been understand by majority of people should not been forced to kick them out from the academic world.
First of all,practice do help the development of theory,but it wouldn't suits every discipline.For example mathematics is a subject which was helplessly limited in the academic world;moreover there is almost no practice job is suitable for history works. Afterall,one should not deny that science and art is come out of daily life but stand out of it.
However,there is still a lot of area that faculty take some time working outside the little campus will help.Such as architecture ,one can not teach others if he or she has never been participated in a programme.Moreover,most engineering course needs working experience as well.As a student, if they had never seen something like gear or shaft how cloud they manage to understand those machinery and get ready for advanced study and research.
Last but not least, the propose of academical activities is to helping people improve the world ,enhance people's understanding of it,and have a better society.Therefore, the courses taught by teachers should be relevant to their area outside the academic world.It's a win-win way both for teachers and learners.As you can see,faculty gets more expenses for the programme they work for which is needed more in practice and can easily get repays;and for students ,most of them may like to find a good job and learn something can been used in their future career.
In sum,aside from academic areas in which outside work is unnecessary or unavailable ,students and faculty should try every measure to enrich their academic work.
