There is the saying that the history study emphasizes too much on individuals, while the groups of people who have been forgoteen play a vital role in the most significant events and trends in history compared with individuals do. I concede the assertion is partly true, however, the famous few fuction a lot in the process of the human history, and their contributions should be memorized by the future generation forever.
Admittedy, a myriad of incidents in the proceedings of history are the consequents of the joint effort made by thousands of people who may be forgotten easily. As the old saying, as I paraphase’”One hand cannot apploud.” The power of one person is too trivial to mention, meanwhile, the new phase is mostly created by the common people. Every one of us still remember the “May Flower” which gives us the thanksgiving holiday. Nowadays, historians evaluate this journey as one of the greatest explorations in the history which changed the world greatly, but at the same time who can say the names of people on the ship? Sailors and passengers there are not the point that the history pay attention to ,their identities have been buried and superceded by the famous ship.
Although the occuration that the significant events and trends happen in history owes to the common people who disappeared without trace, the events are gifted by a serise of unusual significances, even the transitions come up, due to the existence of the key persons. In that case, the historical figures in that particular time are the crutial elements that influence the world a lot. Historians seem to be happy to record them on the data., moreover, cite them in the biography books, which can spread generation by generation. Because of the dramatic record of the few people, the development of the history turns to individuals. Take the film “Brave Heart” as the example, Wallance fighted against the arbitory of the aristocracy, and his persuit for freedom is sung by the future people. The film seems the hymn of Wallance, and his spirit inspires millions of people to achieve the freedom goal. This period of time has its important significance with the leardership of Wallance.
When talked about the trends, we have to praise the celebrities, who stand the acme of the tide, when the groups of people chase behind them. The common persons just popularize the tendercy, while the possibilies of the trends form are the results of the famous few. Consider Audrey Hepburn, the forever Princess Anne, lead the fashion type of noble,elegant,and fancinate. Her hair style and big sunglasse are called the Hepburn character, which fantasies all over the world. People imitate , follow and praise Hepburn, and the fashion world remembers the current she took.
In sum, no deny that the study of history focuses too much attention on individuals, as the groups of people should not be forgoteen, however, think about the particular conditions of history, the famous few affect tremendously to the possibilities of the most significanct events and the trends in history.
