2.7 Do you think success is important, or it is more important to remain happy and optimistic when you fail?

Which one is more important, success or maintaining happy and optimistic when failure comes? I totally side with the latter point of view. And my reasons to support this prospective are listed below.

Admittedly, everyone are thirsty for success. Success for individual means more than "important". It means the fulfillment of the long-held dreams, the reward for the painful progress to "summit" and the admission for people's ability. Through attaining success, people can build up their confidence and encourage them to exploit their future beyond their imagination.

As we all know, it is just the pursuing of success that stimulates humanbeings to make their every step during the process of human's civilization. However no one could be lucky enough in his whole life to enjoy success without experiencing failure. There is a prominent old saying that failure gives birth to success. Those who eventually taste the sweet fruits of success all have ever had a bitter experience. Michael Jordan, honored as God of basketball, has experienced countless bitterness during his career; Mandela, former president of South Africa, before his liberation and presidency, has been in prison for many years. Therefore, large amount of examples tells us that hardness is always a necessary lesson in the way approaching success.

After failure we for sure feel upset, depressed and pessimistic. If we give up our hope like this, we will forever not see the light of our hope. So at this very moment the most important thing for us is to remain happy and optimistic. Only when we retain our faith to the future can we clearly see the faults leading to this failure and rearrange appropriate strategies for our further approaching. There are many examples illustrating the issue. Thomas Edison, one of the most famous inventors in the history, brought light with electrical bulb to humanbeings after thousands of loss; Nobel, the founder of the Nobel Prize as well as a insisting chemist, survived uncountable dying explosion and at last invent explosive. Thus a person who remain optimistic after failure can get through the severe storm and see the final rainbow. Occasional success does not represent too much, however the optimism any time and anywhere can open you the gate to success once and once again.


In sum, success is a one-time event after all, however failures can occur more often. We should always be prepared for unexpected failure and maintain happy and optimistic is the best way for us to deal with this negative emotion, which is much more important than success.
