I don’t agree with the speaker's claim that "technology creates more problems than it solves, and may threaten or damage the quality of life", in my view, as the technology developing, the question of whether technology do more harm to our life will not be a question.

First, technology actually solves a lot of problems which have once threatened our life. Take Industrial Revolution as an example. Industrial Revolution have brought about a new era of industry, that automation replaced manual labor force. Productivity has been boosted extremely, while supply for daily necessities are is so abundant that people would never worry about bread and butter. All of the improvement of living is the consequence of technology accomplishments.

On the other hand, while technology develops, and the wheel of industry rolling so fast, two sever problems bumped out and made seriously threaten and damage to the quality of our life. One is the over-exploiting of nature resources, Over-exploiting our nature resources, especially resources which cannot reborn itself, not only make daily necessity more expansive for the reason that all they are all production of our nature resources, but also leave our children a harder life. And the other problem is tougher, because pollution to our living environment make effect directly to our daily life. Air pollution, water pollution is two common threats caused by technology to our daily life. Imagine that one day there is no fresh air or pure water for human beings to survive, what a catastrophe it would be! What's more threatened is that, our up to date high technology is also threaten our quality of life. The documentary "The Food Company" show us scientist are changing the gene of plants and livestock which will make food industry more profitable and productive. Those "fast-grown" food, though cheaper, are in effect doing harm to our human body. The truth has shown us that technology is being the major threaten to our quality of life, and it, to some extent, may damage the quality of life.

When I focus on the vista of technology, I have a positive thought about technology improvements. As all we can see, many scientists are trying hard to improve technology as well as diminishing the passive infection technology improvements have bring about, because the whole society of the world have take side-effect of technology seriously. You can find out that more popular issue on research are focusing on discovering new, eco-friendly energy such as solar energy and wind energy. Besides, how to eliminate pollution which old industry has made is the hottest issue around all the countries. What I believed is that with all the effort from scientists, technology will improve the quality of our life rather than damage it.

In all, technology always does well to human beings rather than damage our life, and I believe that less harm will technology do to diminish our quality of life.
