142.The article entitled 'Eating Iron' in last month's issue of Eating for Health reported that a recent study found a correlation between high levels of iron in the diet and an increased risk of heart disease. Further, it is well established that there is a link between large amounts of red meat in the diet and heart disease, and red meat is high in iron. On the basis of the study and the well-established link between red meat and heart disease, we can conclude that the correlation between high iron levels and heart disease, then, is most probably a function of the correlation between red meat and heart disease.
This claim is trying to persuade us that the correlation among iron, red meat and the risk of heart disease, which start to show us a study. It is the connection that between iron and the risk of heart disease. As the claim says, because it finds the level of iron is high, the risk of heart disease increases. And in the establish, it turns out that because red meat is high in iron, the more red meat people have, the more dangerous of suffering heart disease people will be. It leads us to the result that the link between red meat and heart disease could give to the correlation between high iron and heart disease. These links shows the ignorance of logic.
First of all, what is the purpose of that study? If we try to find out some connection in a study which is designed for other research, we can not get our result. We need to ask that, is it conveyed in some particular places? Because if it happens in such high level of heart disease as we have known the reason is not what being discussed here, it is totally useless. So, the study shows two facts that do not mean there should be link between them.
Also, the establishment of red meat and heart disease is not proved to be right yet. Well, Let us see this establishment as right that large amount of red meat lead to increased risk of heart disease. However, the element of causing the risk of heart disease may be any but iron, which is high, contained in red meat.
Furthermore, thus should not be simply concluded by the correlation of red meat and heart disease. Supposed that other substances may cause some change while they are mixed with red meat, which should be based on the right condition of the establishment, and those substances can cause heart disease. Then that would be not definitely connection between iron and heart disease.
For the reasons above, the connections among those iron, red meat and heart disease should be redefined by more special researches and studies designed for it.
