      To improve the quality of instruction at the college and university level,the speaker comes up with the idea that forcing all faculty to spend time working in professions relevant to the courses they teach. It appears reasonable that doing so is conducive to the quality quality of instruction. However,the suggestion lacks feasibility and necessity from my viewpoint.
        It is not an easy work for every professor to find a job relevant to the course he teach and spend a lot of time on it.What job will you offer to the famous historian Leften Stavros Stavrianos? I can not find an better place for he to continue his study.And do you think Stephen William Hawking should go to apply NASA for a position?I don’t think the experience benefits Stephen William Hawking a lot granted that NASA accept the application.After all , teachers of some subjects such as history and philosophy will be wondering about choosing a suitable job .In addition,others are troubled with the insufficiency of the time and energy.So the speaker’s suggestion is not practicable for every professor to follow.
       At the same time,it is unnecessary to obey the speaker’s suggestion for the purpose that improving the quality of the instruction and university level.The value of a university lies not only cultivate a person of ability but also other factors such as technical innovation and service for the society. Following the speaker’s suggestion don’t exert a deep influence on the other duties of university except for instruction.What is more,forcing all faculty to work outside the academic world is not certainly helpful of the instruction.The professors allocating less time and attention on the students while spending more and more time in the factories or companies which may lead to the professors’ absence in colleges.Considering that a professor and his students work in their positions respectively.The students won’t get to be outstanding without his teacher’s timely guidance.Anyway, the speaker’s idea may make the teachers keep up with the changes of the society which benefits the instruction to some extent.But as a result of it ,it is likely that the instruction is lowed finally because of the unbalanced allocation of time and energy.And having meetings with the workers who are in professions relevant to the courses the professors teach may be a better way than forcing the professors go to work themselves.
        To sum up,the speaker does not take some factors into consideration such as the characteristics of some subjects and the balance of time for the professors.So the idea may not be so sufficient as the speaker conceived or even get a bad consequence.We still have to think over it to reach the goal.
