Students should bring a certain skepticism to whatever they study. They should question what they are taught instead of accepting it passively.
观点:同意怀疑的学习的观点,但是要有前提

Admittedly, skepticism has imposed an significant influence on the sound growth of children and rapid development of our science, which actually means there exists a great necessity to advocate and promote this ideas. However, skepticism without certain principles can also bring out some bad results. Hence, I agree with the statement insofar as that skepticism is important on the premise of reasonable principles.

To begin with, I concede learning with a certain skepticism can stimulate the students’ initiative to explore the outside world around them. As we all know, a sound thinking habit, which is characterized with skepticism and criticism, will benefit a person largely in the future life. No one can imagine a person who only accepts knowledge monotonously but not think critically can make enormous contributions to the society. One typical case is the exam-oriented education in China, which has been dragged down into great trouble, merely focusing on filling students’ minds with vast amount of knowledge but hardly encouraging them to think on their own. As a result, many students nowadays are in great lack of this ability, let alone any innovations.

Besides, many significant discoveries and innovations in science emerged from skepticism. Let’s take three examples. First, Einstein gave birth to the great Relativity because he suspected the correctness of Newton’s classical mechanics in microcosm. Second, Darwin created the theory of revolution for he didn’t believe in that all species were made by God. Third, suspecting the established results which induce to human’s stomach ulcers, Barry J Marshall, an Australian doctor and the Nobel Prize winner in Physiology or Medicine in 2005, found out the real cause of this disease, and has made significant progress in fighting with it. All these great scientists and their extraordinary achievements best prove the value of skepticism.

Notwithstanding, we have got to soberly realize skepticism without proper principles—knowledge and rational judgment— is unadvisable and usually meaningless. As we all know, no one scientific achievement is created completely merely by imagination, but on the foundation of great amount of knowledge and experience obtained by the predecessors. So skepticism without basic knowledge is clearly unreasonable and problematic. Meanwhile, we cannot to suspect everything without rational judgment. Our human beings’ prosperous civilization has proven a fact that the majority knowledge present is correct. Thus, what we need to do is to master them proficiently and try to make innovations if possible, but not to suspect their correctness. Specially speaking, it would be ridiculous that any doubts about the validity of equation—1+1=2. Of course, what I want to demonstrate here is great amount of knowledge has been proven to be correct, and it almost amounts to a waste of time and energy to study on them.

To summarize, as has been discussed above, absence of skepticism or without certain principles are both unwise and inappropriate. In my observation, imparting students the ability to suspect reasonably would be the optimal path to cultivate students healthily and accelerate the development of science.

Besides, many significant discoveries and innovations in science emerged-> stemmed from skepticism. Let’s take three examples. 觉得详细说一个例子的过程好过罗列,个人意见。而且题目说的是学生,这些例子离得比较远;

将怀疑和知识的关系,怀疑的对象和方法; 感觉和B2有矛盾;实际上,正是对貌似正确的知识的怀疑才导致了重大的科学进展;不如强调下学生所学的知识的特点;

To summarize, as has been discussed above, absence of skepticism or without certain principles are both unwise and inappropriate. In my observation, imparting students the ability to suspect reasonably would be the optimal path to cultivate students healthily and accelerate the development of science.
