The reading message indicates that Chevalier’s memoir is not that accurate as people considered. As a controversial figure, critics point out that he exaggerated his experience to be more attractive and exciting. The speaker, however, casts doubt by more evidence and analysis.

In the first place, loan from merchant could not prove Chevalier was poor. As we learnt from the passage, Chevalier was party goner and gambler, which means he had to spend more money on converting his access into money. It caused that sometimes he needed to get loan from friends or merchants to wait for his money back. Consequently, what speaker mentions in the lecture refuters the first view in the reading.

In the second place, long time after conversation between Chevalier and Voltaire does not mean the distortion of their conversation. Both evidence and witness proved that Chevalier had conversation with Voltaire. Besides, witness after the conversation showed that in order to complete the content of conversation, Chevalier used different languages to record.

Finally, escaping from prison is jotted down in government document. From the passage, view of bribery may be the way for Chevalier to get free instead of escaping by himself. The lecture claims that in the prison, there were more other prisoners who were richer and more powerful but did not bribe for free. Particularly government did repair the ceiling of prison after Chevalier escaping by making a hole in the ceiling with metal.

Consequently, what the reading passage demonstrates could not be strong enough and the lecture definitely refutes views of reading content with more evidence and argument.

The reading passage indicates that the number of otters is decreasing due to pollution and predation after analysis. The lecture, however, refutes it with sound evidence and investigation.

In the first place, no witness can prove that dead otter washed up by the sea shore. The reading claims that pollution and chemicals negatively affected otters, which caused number of otters declined. The speaker argues that no sign of dead otters showing up near the coastal area. On the other hand, if otters were influenced dramatically by predators, it means the bodies of otters cannot be washed up on the ocean.

In the second place, environmental pollution does not lead to the decreasing number of small mammals and otters. The decline of whales is due to human hunters instead of pollution, which causes otters changed eating habits into hunting small animals. That explains the declining of some kinds of small sea mammals, such seals and seal lions.

Finally, uneven population of otter along the sea shore is based on location they lived. Environmental contamination is not major reason to explain because it is the location of otter decides the number of otters. For instance, one kind of otter with larger body live in shallow and rocky areas and their population is stable instead of declining. The reason is shallow and rocky places are not accessible to them.

Consequently, what the reading passage proves is refuted by the speaker in the lecture by showing strong analysis.

The reading passage indicates that the number of otters is decreasing due to pollution and predation after analysis(文章有个对比关系,偏向pollution). The lecture, however, refutes it with sound evidence and investigation.

In the first place, no witness can prove that dead otter (be) washed up byon the sea shore. The reading claims that pollution and chemicals negatively affected otters, which caused number of otters declined. The speaker argues that no sign of dead otters showing up near the coastal area. On the other hand, if otters were influenced dramatically by predators, it means the bodies of otters cannot be washed up on the ocean.(感觉这句话的表述有点绕,建议再做精炼。)

In the second place, environmental pollution does not lead to the decreasing number of small mammals and otters. The decline of whales is due to human hunters instead of pollution(这里听力没有对比的意思,我重听的:second, although orcas may prefer to hunt whales, whales have essentially disappeared from the area because of human hunters.), which causes ottersoracs changed (their) eating habits into hunting smallsmaller,这里是相对概念,其实这些动物本身不小,是相对于鲸鱼来说的) animals. That explains the declining of some kinds of smalerl sea mammals, such seals and seal lions.(翠花这一段理解有偏差,文章说,这种大范围的影响可能由污染或widely occurring predatororca)导致; 由于orca吃鲸鱼所以不可能导致这些动物数量减少.

Finally, uneven population of otter along the sea shore is based on location they lived. Environmental contamination is not major reason to explain because it is the location of otter decides the number of otters. For instance, one kind of otter with larger body live in shallow and rocky areas and their population is stable instead of declining. The reason is shallow and rocky places are not accessible to themtheir predators.

Consequently, what the reading passage proves is refuted by the speaker in the lecture by showing strong analysis.

In the first place, no witness can prove that dead otter washed up by the sea shore. The reading claims that pollution and chemicals negatively affected otters, which caused number of otters declined. The speaker argues that no sign of dead otters showing up near the coastal area.(从句中没有谓语) On the other hand, if otters were influenced dramatically by predators, it means the bodies of otters cannot be washed up on the ocean.(听力中的点很准,赞一个~)

In the second place, environmental pollution does not lead to the decreasing number of small mammals and otters. The decline of whales is due to human hunters instead of pollution, which causes otters (不是otter,是orca)changed eating habits into hunting small animals. That explains the declining of some kinds of small sea mammals, such seals and seal lions. 翠花这里不准确~事实上是human hunter lead to the disappear of whales, thus orca began to change their diet for smaller preys. Therefore, it is very likely that it is orcas that cause the big disaster for sea mammals.

Finally, uneven population of otter along the sea shore is based on location they lived. Environmental contamination(换词,赞一个~) is not (a)major reason to explain because it is the location of otter (加个that,变成强调句)decides the number of otters. For instance, one kind of otter (不是otter,应该是orca吧~难道是我理解错了?)with larger body live in shallow and rocky areas and their population is stable instead of declining. The reason is shallow and rocky places are not accessible to them. 这里我听到的是owing to some shallow or rocky location where orcas are not easy to access due to the huge body, the otter number has not declined. Besides, the sea otter will be eaten by predators in wide areas.

Consequently, what the reading passage proves is refuted by the speaker in the lecture by showing strong analysis.

The reading passage indicates that nowadays people in decreasing number do some literature reading. That causes adversely impact on culture and public literature. The lecturer, however, refutes what the article proves with more details and information.

In the first place, people could be encouraged by other means to gain imagination instead of literature only. The speaker claims that there are methods which can stimulate people’s intellect and practice their language ability such as by politics and history. This is true that less people read literature at present, but it cannot deny that humans will lose chances to develop intellect and empathy.

In the second place, it is an unwise view that other entertainments have lowered culture level. What the lecturer argues that enjoy music and watch a good movie also express high level culture; and reading literature is not the only way to keep culture, which is supported in the reading.

Finally, lacking audiences is not the mere reason to contribute the trend of reading literature. As the lecturer refutes that currently some literature works are hard to be understood, and it causes less readers to do some reading. It is different from what the article mentions that the declining of literature due to poor level of readers. Consequently, the speaker totally refutes the views in the reading passage.

The reading passage indicates that the portrait of a girl is Jane Austen though her pictures were rare recorded in the documentary. The image of Austen is owned by her family member shown up to sell while the lecture, however, challenges the perspective of the article with more information and details.

To begin with, Austen’s family members had never met Austen when used her image as illustration. The reading proves that her family could recognize Austen from the portrait, on the contrary, the speak argues in 1882, Austen already died for seventy years, which is distrustful for her family members to point out her from that portrait.

Additionally, similar face with Austen may not be Austen herself. Austen had a big family with a large of family members. It causes that resemble faces looking like Austen might be her relative around her ages at that time; meanwhile it might be one of her relatives’ daughters, who was also a teenager. Therefore, resemble looking in portrait cannot show that girl was Austen.

Finally, Austen already reached 27 when Humphrey was hired as painter in her family. The view from the reading passage is totally distinguished from what the lecturer supports. The reason is that a portrait, without date and sign could not be evidence to prove the teenager girl in it is Austen, especially Austen was 27 while the painter drew the picture.

Consequently, the speaker completely refutes the opinion from reading passage that the girl in portrait was Austen.

The reading passage indicates that the portrait of a girl is Jane Austen though her pictures were rare recorded in the documentary. The image of Austen is owned by her family member shown up to sell(这里应该有个停顿,另外这句话可以删去) while the lecture, however, challenges the perspective of the article with more information and details.

To begin with, Austen’s family members had never met Austen when used her image as illustration(你说her image那就是承认了这幅画是她喽! The reading proves that her family could recognize Austen from the portrait, on the contrary, the speaker argues(that,少了that好像是说话人在1982年说的似的) in 1882, Austen already died for seventy years, which ishenceit is distrustful for her family members to point out(这里用distinguish, identify, discern这些词会更好一点) her from that portrait.

Additionally, similar face with Austen may not be Austen herself. Austen had a big family with a large of family members. It causes that resemble faces looking like Austen might be her relative around her ages at that time; meanwhile it might be one of her relatives’ daughters, who was also a teenager. Therefore, resemble looking in portrait cannot show that girl was Austen.(这一段写的挺好!)

Finally, Austen already reached 27 when Humphrey was hired as painter in her family. The view from the reading passage is totally distinguished from what the lecturer supports. The reason is that a portrait, without date and sign could not be evidence to prove the teenager girl in it is Austen, especially Austen was 27 while the painter drew the picture.(翠花这一段理解偏差挺大,我听写的,你对照一下吧:Third, the painting has been attributed to Humphrey only because of the style, but other evidence points to a later date. A stamp on the back of the picture indicates that the blank canvases, you know the actual piece of cloth on which the picture was painted, was sold by a man named William Lag. Records showed that William Lag did not sell canvasses in London when Jane Austen was a teenager. He only started selling canvasses when she was 27 years old. So it looks like the canvass was used for painting at the time when Austen was clearly older than the girl in the portrait.

Consequently, the speaker completely refutes the opinion from reading passage that the girl in portrait was Austen.

The reading passage indicates that those private fossils collectors are not playing positive roles in keeping ancient fossils. It causes the public and scientist missed to connect with fossils. The speaker, however, refutes what the reading supports with more details and information.

To begin with, public institutes are gained the opportunity to see fossils. It will not lead to the public would lose interests in watching ancient fossils as the article mentioned. From lecturer, public organizations do have chances to enjoy fossils because private collectors would take presentation of fossils for commercial purpose, which those fossils are exposed to the public.

Then, it is the scientists who distinguished fossils by their knowledge and information. It is true that fossil owners have desire to keep fossils, however, scientists need to identify fossils before they are purchased and collected private collectors. Hence, fossils are still gone through scientists, who do not miss out to check those fossils.

Finally, more fossils could not be discovered without fossils owners. Even if private fossils collectors may produce adverse impact on fossils, a large number of fossils are still discovered by scientists under the encouragement of private fossil owners. The reason is that less public organizations have willing to collect fossils, consequently, private fossil owners continue exert active role in fossils collected.

Therefore, the speaker completely changes the theory in reading passages with more knowledge and evidence.

It will not lead to the public would(跟前面will重复,可删) lose interests in watching ancient fossils as the article mentioned. From lecturer, public organizations do have chances to enjoy fossils because private collectors would take presentation of fossils for commercial purpose(翠花的理解有偏差,lectureCommercial fossil hunting使个人购买化石成为可能,这样即使是学校或图书馆也可以买一些化石并展示给大众), which those fossils are exposed to the public.

Then, it is the scientists who distinguished fossils by their knowledge and information. It is true that fossil owners have desire to(直接desire to就可以) keep fossils privately(加这个词更好), however, scientists need to(感觉这里用need to有主动要求的意思,实际上科学家应该是被需要,换成 are needed to会不会更好?) identify fossils before they are purchased and collected private collectors. Hence, fossils are still gone through scientists, who do not miss out to check those fossils.

Finally, more fossils could not be discovered without fossils ownerscommercial fossil collectors. Even if private fossils collectors may produce adverse impact on fossils, a large number of fossils are still discovered by scientists under the encouragement of private fossil owners. The reason is that less public organizations have willing to collect fossils, consequently, private fossil owners continue exert active role in fossils collected.(最后理解有误,这是我听写的:Finally, whatever damage commercial fossil collectors sometimes do, if weren’t for them, many fossils would simply go undiscovered, because there aren’t that many fossil collecting corporations that run by university and other scientific institutions. Isn’t it better for scientists to at least have more fossils being found, even if we don’t have all the scientific data we would like to have about their locations’ surroundings, than at least to have many fossils go completely undiscovered?

Therefore, the speaker completely changes the theory in reading passages with more knowledge and evidence.
