48"The study ofhistory places too much emphasis on individuals. The most significant eventsand trends in history were made possible not by the famous few, but by groupsof people whose identities have long been forgotten."

Individual orgroups people, which should receive more focus from scholars in the study ofhistory? Some people argue that individuals are more important, as they playvital roles in the crossroads in histories--thus they should be focused more.Yet, others hold the opposite attitudes that the most significant events andtends in history were made by groups, who are often neglected (rarely noticed)by the current history study. As for me, though I concede that the famous fewdo have huge effect to the development of history, however, the ordinary peopleare relatively more important in the study of history.
Admittedly, regarded as the representatives of specific eras, famous few play importantroles in history study. Undeniable, some individuals do affected the trend anddevelopment of history to some degrees. Take George Washington, father of theUnited States, as an example. In stead of reserving, he refused to run for athird turn after reluctantly served a second term as president, establishingthe customary policy of a maximum of two terms for a president, which laterbecame law in U.S. If he didn’t do so, American current president tenure may bedifferent from what it looks like today. Besides, famous persons’ words andbehaviors are representatives of their period and act as symbol of differenteras. For specific instance, Michael Jackson is the one of the most well-knownmusician of the late 20th century. As the King of Pop, his attracts not onlyfans but also musical historians, who want to comprehend the past history byidentify the characteristics of famous musicians like Michael Jackson. Thus, considering the crucial effect of the famous person in history, it is naturalfor many historians to pay attention on them.
However, toomuch emphasis in individual study easily results in hasty generalizationmistake. Besides famous few, it is also necessary to set focus on the ordinaryones. Indeed, the history is formed of both the ordinary and the elite. As oneof the historian professors in my university said: "Elites onlycharacterize part of the history, if you want to get an integral comprehensionof that era, the most precious material are memoirs written by ordinary people, which document every aspect of life." Therefore, in the study of history, ordinary people should to be paid more close attention, after all, they areindispensible part of our society.
Furthermore, asthe majority of society, ordinary people have tremendous effects toward thesociety. In fact, behind the famous people, it is the ordinary people who trulypromote the development of history. For instance, the greatest discoveries inphysics are often based on various experiments, which cannot be conductedwithout relative equipments. Yet, once a discovery is found, whole societyalways focus only on the discoverers, but neglects the inventors of theexperimental facilities and other scientists who also contribute in thediscovery. As a consequence,
due totheir great contributions, ordinary people should not be neglected in historystudy.
All in all, forthe crucial and indispensable roles ordinary people play in the history stage, they should also be emphasized in the study of history. This helps us to findthe distinct trace of history development.

Individual or
groups people, which should receive more focus from scholars in the study of history? Some people argue that individuals are more important, as they play vital roles in the crossroads
crossroad in histories--thus they should be focused more.Yet, others hold the opposite attitudesattitude that the most significant events and tends (trend) in history were made by groups, who are often neglected (rarely noticed)by the current history study. As for me, though I concede that the famous few do have huge effect to the development of history, however, the ordinary people are relatively more important in the study of history. Good begining
Admittedly, regarded as the representatives (representative) of specific eras (era), famous few play important roles in history study. Undeniable, some individuals do affected (affect) the trend and development of history to some degrees(degree). Take George Washington, father of the United States, as an example. In stead of reserving, he refused to run for a third turn after reluctantly served a second term as president, establishing the customary policy of a maximum of two terms for a president, which laterbecame law in U.S. If he didn’t do so, American current president tenure may be different from what it looks like today. (I feel this example isn’t fit here quite well )Besides, famous persons’ words and behaviors (behavior) are representatives (representative) of their period and act as symbol of different eras. For specific instance, Michael Jackson is the one of the most well-known musician of the late 20th century. As the King of Pop, his (he)
attracts not only fans but also musical historians, who want to comprehend the past history by identify the characteristics of famous musicians like Michael Jackson. Thus, considering the crucial effect of the famous person in history, it is natural for many historians to pay attention on them.
However, too much emphasis in
(on) individual study easily results in hasty generalization (generalized) mistake(mistakes). Besides famous few, it is also necessary to set focus on the ordinary ones(one)
. Indeed, the history is formed of both the ordinary and the elite. As one of the historian professors in my university said: "Elites only characterize part of the history, if you want to get an integral comprehensionof that era, the most precious material are memoirs written by ordinary people, which document every aspect of life." Therefore, in the study of history, ordinary people should to be paid more close attention, after all, they are indispensible part of our society.
Furthermore, as the majority of society, ordinary people have tremendous effects toward the society. In fact, behind the famous people, it is the ordinary people who truly promote the development of history. For instance, the greatest discoveries I nphysics are often based on various experiments, which cannot be conducted without relative equipments. Yet, once a discovery is found, whole society always focus only on the discoverers, but neglects the inventors of the experimental facilities and other scientists who also contribute in the discovery. As a consequence,
due to their great contributions, ordinary people should not be neglected in history study.
All in all, for the crucial and indispensable roles
, ordinary people play in the history stage, they should also be emphasized in the study of history. This (that , you cannot use “this” here) helps
us to find the distinct trace of history development.
