144"It is the artist, not the critic,* who gives society something of lasting value."
*a person who evaluates works of art, such as novels, films, music, paintings, etc.

The topic asserts that the artist gives society something of lasting value while the critic does not. I agree with the part that the artist gives society something of lasting value and disagree with the later part that critic does not gives society lasting value. The critic plays an important role on bruiting the value of artistic works which give lasting value, so it creates lasting value indirectly.

The artist definitely gives society something of lasting value no matter in the era of thousand years ago or in today`s life. Here are some examples, the fresco inside the Pyramid which was built by ancient Egypt thousands years ago tells how ancient Egyptians lived, worked and built cities. Though the name of the artist who painted the fresco is unknown, the value of the paint has been lasting thousands years. Besides, some famous artists such as Leonardo da Vinci and Michelangelo at the time of Medieval and Renaissance created many famous paintings and statues, and it is them who create these arts pass hundreds of years and lasting their values. The group of seven at last century created a new style of painting that influences the art of Canada and is of great value until today. From these examples, we can draw the conclusion that it’s definitely the artists who create those famous artistic works of lasting value to society.

Then, another question comes into my mind that how can these famous arts` lasting value during hundreds or thousands of years? It is the critic spreads these arts and evaluates their value. Critics often comment on some arts, when a work of art is really good and got accepted by the critic, they will give an positive comments and make arts valued, then after every generation`s critic accept it, the art will confirm to have lasting value. For example, the Mona Liza, almost all the critics in every generation assert the way of drawing the woman is successful and the woman is really beautiful, it has been saved for hundreds of years and propagated it value to society.

So critics help an art last it value. If a world without critics, the situation will become different. People cannot judge whether a work of art is valuable or not, which will probably make the artist who is really great cannot get his or her honor correctly. By contrast, some useless artistic works may evaluate as a valuable one and the artist who painted it get a great recognition that he or she doesn’t deserve.

But admitting the function of critics does not mean all comments are valuable that give the merit of true arts. The true arts should get support by that critics who makes objective and justice views. Being susceptible to various temptations, such as benefits and social status, some critics incline to follow the idea of certain organization or give views that cater the civil.

In conclusion, as I have discussed above, artist gives the society something of lasting value and some critics which give objective and reasonable views bring these artist`s value lasting.

The topic asserts that the artist gives society something of lasting value while the critic does not. 【I agree with the part that the artist gives society something of lasting value and disagree with the later part that critic does not gives society lasting value. 】(感觉这句话有点罗嗦,改成I agree with the former part but disagree with the later part也不会引起歧义)The critic plays an important role 【on】(in) bruiting the value of artistic works which give lasting value, so it creates lasting value indirectly.

The artist definitely gives society something of lasting value no matter in the era of thousand years ago or in today’s life. The group of seven at last century created a new style of painting that influences the art of Canada and is of great value 【until】(till) today. From these examples, we can draw the conclusion that 【it’s】(最好分开写) definitely the artists who create those famous artistic works of lasting value to society.

Then, another question comes into my mind that how can these famous arts` lasting value during hundreds or thousands of years? It is the critic spreads these arts and evaluates their value. Critics often comment on some arts, when a work of art is really good and got accepted by the critic, they will give an positive comments and make arts valued, then after every generation’s critic accept it, the art will 【confirm】(be confirmed) to have lasting value. For example, the Mona Liza, almost all the critics in every generation assert the way of drawing the woman is successful and the woman is really beautiful, it has been 【saved for】( 不太理解)hundreds of years and 【propagated it value to society】(怎么突然变主动了).

So critics help an art last 【it】(its) value. 【If a world】(删) without critics, the situation will become different. People cannot judge whether a work of art is valuable or not, which will probably make the artist (,)who is really great( ,变成插入语)cannot get his or her honor correctly. By contrast, some useless artistic works may 【evaluate】(be evaluated) as a valuable one and the artist(,) who painted it (may) get a great recognition that he or she doesn’t deserve.

But admitting the function of critics does not mean all comments(they made) are valuable【that give the merit of true arts】(感觉有点不通,删了都可以). The true arts should get support (only)by 【that】(the) critics who makes objective and justice views. (Unfortunately,转折一下)Being susceptible to various temptations, such as benefits and social status, some critics incline to follow the idea of certain organization or give views that cater the civil.

In conclusion, as I have discussed above, artist gives the society something of lasting value and some critics which give objective and reasonable views bring 【these artist’s】(these artists’) value lasting.
