[i习作temp] issue50【big fish】习作---by tc1220 [复制链接]

Education, which has been considered one of the universal human rights, is a main aspect of development of modern society. For those higher education institution, college and university which are supposed to make men wise and contribute to the society, there is a assertion that all the faculty are required to work outside so as to raise the quality of instruction. Generally speaking, the requirements should be classified in accordance with the subjects that faculty teach.

Basically the subjects conducted in the university could be divided into two catalogues. One is related to the applications including Medicine, Business administration, Social science and Humanity, in addition to some applied science and engineering. The other refer to the science like mathematics and philosophy, which mainly focus on the theoretical research.

To begin with, from my perspective, as for those faculties teaching applied subjects are strongly recommended to work outside relevant to the courses they teach. On one hand, working outside the academic world could enhance the experience professors undergo, with which they are able to have a comprehensive understanding about the course they teach in terms of both academic knowledge and social demands or applications. Hence, professor’s experience may be a great media that differentiates the relations and distinction between academic world and non-academic world. For example, a professor who is teaching sociology work outside as a journalist probably performs better in the course since he could be able to combine the academic knowledge with the social phenomenon that he has experience, specifically, how the society operates? How people interact with each other. With such knowledge in mind, students are more likely adapted to the society, thus, making contributions to the world.

As aforementioned previously, some other students are majoring in the science which may be regarded as foundation of all applied subjects. It is not extremely essential for these faculties to work outside the academic world. Normally, those academic and abstracts subjects stem from the university and develop in the university, and what they provide are the basal theories and researches for the society. Hence, from this point of view, it is unnecessary for the faculties to work outside. Furthermore, to some extent the society maybe even unable offer such a position in which those professors suits. Mathematician is the best example that could illustrate this standview. Therefore, in such subjects, professors are suggested to educate the students with as much academic knowledge as possible.

However, working outside is probably advantageous for professor themselves. As we all known that staying in the one place is of tedium, working somewhat is able to provoke and excite some creative ideas for researches. Thus, the quality of instruction would be improved in a sense.

In conclusion, whether or not faculties should work outside is really dependent. For majority of subjects with property of application, Professor’s working experience is advantageous to the course performance. Whereas it is not necessary for those professors teaching theoretical subjects work outside. Additionally, redundant work appears negative effects on the quality and effectiveness of the instruction.

大纲

2. 对于某些应用学科方面,working outside the academic world is great advantageous. For example, 教授的经验告诉学生course fact 的区别与联系, 达到了education 的目的.
3. 对于另外些纯理论研究学科方面,working outside 不是那么有必要。但是,从某种方面来说working outside 可以为research 提供灵感,毕竟一味的做某样事情会让人产生疲倦,这样会有CREATIVE IDEAS come out, 某种程度的提高quality
