Complicated and significant is the work of preparing the young for the furture(future前无R!). Being regarded as the foundation for future, education draws attention for centuries. How to enhance its efficiency and quality remains an debate. I side with the author that except professional educators, parents and communities should join hands in the strenuous process of education.
To define the determinant instructor in education requires to examine the goal of education at the first place. Widely-accepted as the preparation for personal survival and the subsistence of the socieity(society拼写!), education, which appears largely in the form of schooling, is considered a process to instill the children with necessary professional skills and to inculcate students with proper morality. What the society needs are the kind of generations that has been equipped with not only the fluent and crafty skills to construct the material community and to secure personal living but also the positive and active attitude towards the group, which facilitate their merging into the community and ensures the stability of the group as a whole. Neither of the two is dispensible(dispensable是A不是I!), and a truly effective and efficient education will be achieved only when students can be rightly implanted with both.
Part of the tasks mentioned above falls into the shoulder of professional educatiors, who perform their work mainly in schools, univerisities(universities拼写!) and colleges. offering students with professional skills and knowledges(knowledge无S!) in the form of, largely, book learnings(learning无S!) and experiments, teachers and professors guarantee the normal and adequate atmosphere and environment where students acquires both major knowledges and interpersonal skills. In primary and secondary school, children learn various subjects ranging from physics to biology and from music to literature. Afterwards, universities and colleges provide them with stages and paths towards either academia or professional realm. Professional educators, aiming primarily at enhancing students' professional learning, attain their accomplishment to mold a generation that shares the potential to bring about a better world.
However, such potential may not be realized if families and communities simply stand aside and doing nothing. Common sense goes that even the academic education entails the participance of parents, especially at the early stage of life. An oft-told theory on education tells the importance on instructions that meet the personal demands. However, with so many children crowded within the classroom, teachers tend to be too engaged to cater for individual needs and interests. Parents, who can focus their attentions persistently on the children and exert miraculous influence on them, undertake the major task to find out the habits, advantages, preferences and dislikes. Equally profound for the development of children is the sense of affection and love created by the friendly and intimate family atmosphere. Such emotional education, tells the psychologist, works its magic in ensuring the healthy personality and the positive attitude towards the world, without which the mental growth of chidren(children拼写!) suffers.
Community plays a crucial role as well. Serving as the environment where schools and familes(families勿漏I!) merge in, community enjoys the privilege to foster the social attitude and trend towards education and, in so doing, influence the education indirectly yet profoundly. For one thing, in the form of educational funding or financing, society can lend ample assistance to furnish the schools and universities with better material environment. For anothr(another拼写!), the social ethos, the accumulated respect and emphasis on children rearing, urges educators and parents and facilitates an improved atmosphere for educational activities.
Consider the multifold destination of education, and it becomes fairly reasonable to include the families and communities into the task of the cultivation of children. |
